Location was good but views are very different from the back of the building over the car park/bins compared to the front over the canal.

It was an amazing experience. We never knew what it would be like to stay in the old Abbey but the combination of the old (history, beautiful architecture, stunning views of the lake and the surrounding landscapes) and the new (neat, modern facilities, access to the pool and sauna) was exceptional. We loved how big our apartment was. Our daughter had her own room and bathroom and we all had a separate living room with majestic high ceilings and a big kitchen. We also got a lovely hamper as a welcome gift, which was very handy when didn’t feel like braving the cold to go out to buy a snack.

Location was perfect for Highland exploring, parking was secluded and safe for the 3 motorbikes we had with us and we didn't feel the need to security chain them while we were there. The house was very roomy and comfortable for 3 people with a great sized kitchen, roomy bedrooms and plenty of space to have some time to yourself

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.

Much quieter than Inverness and a delightful pretty village with good pubs and recommend The Bothy. Take a short walk to the very bottom of Loch Ness. Also take a drive down the much quieter and superbly more scenic route down the east side of Loch Ness on B862/B852. Fascinating to see the canal locks in the village.

Fort Augustus is a small compact little village with so much to see and do. There are plenty of delightful gift shops, great places to eat and stunning scenery. There is a Loch cruise boat service providing trips on the Loch as well as telling you a lot of interesting information about the natural history of the Loch and its famous monster! The Caledonian canal, which runs into the Loch, has a series of lock gates that make for an interesting watch when boats pass through.
The apartment is situated in an old convent. I absolutely loved the ambiance and traditional interior (with modern bathroom and nice kitchen). It's a personal preference, though -I travelled with my father, who prefers modern hotels, and he was less charmed. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Apartment was clean and comfortable. There was a great little info guide on places to eat and explore in the area, as well as practical instructions (e.g. on how to control the heating and where to put our rubbish) and guidelines (e.g. on pets).
After staying in self-catering accommodation it was great to be in a hostel with a lot of like-minded people - a woman up from London running a marthon, a group of German climbers, everyone in love with the outdoors - lots of great books for free. We had a good, cheap and hot dinner - my veggie haggis was great - and breakfast set us up for the day. Great location close to Fort Augustus - perfect for seeing Loch Lomond and as a stopover on the way from Skye to Loch Lomond. Friendly laid back atmosphere much appreciated.
The location of the hotel is excellent - overlooking Loch Ness and also only a short walk (15 mins) via the back roads to Fort Augustus which is well worth seeing. We particularly enjoyed the Caledonian canal locks. The dinner was good once we requested extra vegetables. These were quickly provided by the waiter and chef and made the experience much better. Breakfast was superb - cooked to order and very tasty.
Our room was upgraded to a loch view which we appreciated.
The apartment is in a fantastic central location for Fort Augustus, secure access and parking with incredible facilities! Loads to do, loads of places to eat, thats if you choose not to stay in and cook yourself! Clean, modern, comfortable and spacious with a long history and sublime views straight onto Loch Ness! Check out the photo from the window at sunrise...
The property is in an exceptional location being only 10-15 minute walk from Fort Augustus and the Southern end of Loch Ness. Inside, our apartment was tastefully decorated with plenty of space and great views. Outside, there is a woodland area at the bottom of the garden which was great for our dog, Poppy. We would definitely recommend.
The original property and abbey are beautiful. The location at the base of Loch Ness is special, though there’s not much going on or available in the adjacent town of Fort Augustus.
Some of the shared facilities are very nice - the pool (for which you need a booking!?), the games room, the giant chess and the outdoor kids playing area.
Great location-a short walk, on a sidewalk, from Fort Augustus.
Comfortable and large room with huge jacuzzi tub.
Good instructions to access room. Breakfast left outside door in morning.
Driving from the north, it’s easy to miss the turn to the B&B.
Lots of restaurants nearby and fun to watch boats go through the locks.
Greeting staff were very helpful, location is fantastic in Fort Augustus Lochness, right beside the locks, pubs and loch cruises. Spar petrol station 2 minute walk away sells pretty much everything at fair prices. Great location to watch the boats navigate the canal or explore wider if you wish
This hotel was in a great and quiet location that also had a decent view of the loch. We stayed in an upgraded larger room and appreciated the large size. The staff was very friendly and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The hotel is an old hunting lodge that has an antique charm to it.
location in Fort Augustus was ideal! it is right on the great glen way hike. great place to meet other travellers. the kitchen and complimentary breakfast was nice. was great that they had lockers to store valuables in. they had charging stations on every bed.
Excellent place to stay at Fort Augustus, very close to the hub at the South point of Loch Ness.
Very welcoming host and hostess, delicious breakfast provided.
Contactless check-in, not that it was necessary, but seamless and uncomplicated.
Excellent shower.
The breakfast was included in the price of the room. Clean room. You can use common spaces such as the kitchen and the living room. You can check-in whenever you want through a code sent by the hotel.
Location in Fort Augustus excellent. Amazing surroundings, beautiful Loch Ness on the doorstep, plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. Apartment well appointed in a unique place.
The room was extremely well appointed with good quality furniture, fixtures & fittings. It had loads of parking space and was only a 5 minute walk from the center of Fort Augustus.
Perfect preparation for the Loch Ness Marathon. Comfortable and peaceful. Excellent breakfast and a bonus lift to the pick up point in town. Thanks so much!
