Boutique hotel with a very small number of rooms in a historic building was out of sight; room was spacious and bedding including extraordinarily soft high thread count cotton sheets; bartender was friendly; receptionist was hugely helpful acting as concierge to answer all of my local questions; deck view of estuary mouth and English channel was awesome; complimentary smooth as water gin stored in a crystal decanter and tonic water was a fantastic surprise

Fowey is a lovely, typical fishing village however it has the usual plethora of second homes, airbnb and rental properties. It’s not too commercial though. Lots of narrow streets and old buildings.
We visited in March and it was lovely, I suspect that in the high season it will get very crowded. A nightmare to drive through!

Classic Cornish small coastal town nestled on the steep western bank of a creek. Full of character and plenty of real local people as well as tourists. Be prepared for a steep heart stopping climb to the central car par if you miss the Town (mini) Bus which appears every 15 minutes.Highly recommend Bufala Italian restaurant/.pizzeria - don't be put off by drab road facing entrance/waiting area. Pintxo tapas bar looked interesting but could not get a seat.

A very idyllic town, by the river Fowey, especially when the sun is out and sparkling on its surface.
Excellent opportunities to walk along the coast, or to jump on to ferries and visit other towns. Some lovely beaches and coves nearby (Readymoney Cove is lovely and at walking distance from the centre) making it possible to dip into the river. Many links to Daphne du Maurier around the area - although Manderley is private (and under a different name) it’s easy to be enraptured by the atmosphere.
Buses are just a couple and not very regular, but it’s still possible to visit the area even if you don’t own a car.
I truly recommend.

A delightful place to visit.
A delightful place to visit. Wonderful swimming at Readymoney Bay.
Good long Beach for strolling at Par Bay a short drive out of Fowey.
The town of Fowey is charming, set on the River. However the steep walk from and up to the upper part of town is a kittle challenging.
Fowey offers a good selection of restaurants and shops.

Lovely location especially Readymoney beach and the shops & pubs.
Little bit challenging getting to accommodation by car, to drop our bags off, as it’s a single road one way system. So if you miss it you either have to go round again or park up and walk back.

A really compact village/town with everything centrally placed, plenty of choice of drinking or eating places.
Only downside is the carparking on the fringe of the town, you would need to catch the town taxi/bus if you have any mobility problems.
Visit Llanhydrock Place the best National Trust property I've ever entered.
A lovely hotel with interesting design and period details, and a comfortable, well provisioned room. The views over the Fowey estuary are glorious, and it can be fascinating to see there is always a boat on the move, or to notice how the view of Polruan and the coastline varies with the tide and the light conditions. The restaurant, lounge and hotel room, all nicely done, were completely special as they look out on all that. The food was great too, especially the local, “Fowey” mussels.
Beautiful hotel and location. The driveway is fine and not too narrow. Great parking. Easy go get into Fowey and the hotel has an outstanding view of the harbour, especially during regatta with the fireworks. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel so I cannot comment. Pool tables and table tennis. Lovely rooms and verandas to have a drink on. The Spa is pricey but very relaxing and a lovely addition to your stay. Staff very friendly, chatty and helpful. Breakfast staff lovely too.
The staff were amazing, so kind, friendly, helpful, one of the highlights of the trip. Lovely area right by the sea with the restaurant being a few feat from the sea. Easy to go on walk around area straight hotel. Lovely room, tastefully furnished with good quality fittings, and nice selection of teas etc on the room. The food was really tasty in the restaurant and breakfast was superb.
The hotel was lovely, the staff were very nice & helpful. The Cornish breakfast at the hotel restaurant was particularly good! Fowey was beautiful with lots of lovely small businesses.
Readymoney Cove is just a short distance, with beautiful clear blue water & St Catherine's Castle was a lovely walk with a wonderful view.
The Breakfast was good, especially sitting with a view of the bay. The location of this hotel is stunning, rain or shine. Our room was comfortable, clean and stylish. The hotel exceeded expectations in every area. We would definitely return to this hotel if we came back to Fowey and would highly recommend it.
the views from the Hotel across to Fowey are stunning. The staff were very welcoming and their service levels were excellent. The cleanliness of the room and accommodation was very good. The food was well presented but I would have preferred to have seen more options in the evening.
The cottage is fantastic, welcoming, clean and can host 6 people in 3 bedrooms.
Eating on the terrace with the view on the harbour was amazing and our guests and us were delighted by such a lovely view.
The location is handy as well.
View from the room was amazing. Location of the hotel was within walking distance (5mins) into town with pubs and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Decor of the hotel was superb, very classy.
The room was beautiful, a good size and very clean, the batroom and shower was exceptional. It was a great location in the centre of Fowey, but still quiet. The breakfast was delicious.
The hotel has been recently completely refurbished and we stayed in the new building which had been decorated to a high standard and was very aesthetically pleasing
Really great pub and accommodation, right in the centre of Fowey with a fantastic view of the harbour. Good breakfast and super friendly staff. Would recommend.
The Lodge was really well equipped, and in a lovely quite location. Close to the Hotel and its facilities.
It was ideal for our base to visit the area.
