This place is a hidden gem. Booked as a stay over before going to Isle of Skye. The room was really good but the food was amazing …… you won’t be disappointed.

Never saw hosts. Just once briefly to collect money

Fried breakfast was reasonable but, slightly cold.
Loved the harbour area which has a lot of activity.
Loved the harbour area which has a lot of activity. Excellent bakers nearby as well as fish and chips restaurants and a delightful pizzeria. Also The Horsebox just up the road from the harbour - lovely coffees and cakes.

Gorgeous part of the Highlands with good transport links !
Gorgeous part of the Highlands with good transport links ! Ferries and Trains ! The train journey is spectacular and worth every Penny and minute of the 5 hours from Glasgow or 2 hours plus from Fort William … I’m not a train spotter by any means or a Harry Potter fan but this journey as always been on my travel bucket list and did not disappoint!
Good bar / restaurant … great value great food at the top of the hill and friendly locals !! Be aware as you’d expect not a lot open in the depths of winter!! But enough and how I personally like it !!

The scenery was breathtaking, locals so friendly and helpful. Only downside several places were closed due to staff shortages.
Hotel was fantastic but the staff, the two Fiona's and Pawel were wonderful, above and beyond helpful

Mallaig is at its heart an old fishing town which has seen that part of its self-image eroded by the economics of fisheries across the land. Meanwhile it has become popular because of the steam railway and Harry Potter. Though this has improved the economy it feels like the place begrudges this new found dimension and would prefer to revert to its quieter fish-focussed past. Some of the restaurants feel like they are profiteering - £11 for 4 tiny pieces of salt and pepper squid slapped on the table is indicative. Overpriced dishes and underwhelming service. Is it me or do the staff in the hostelries and shops project an air that says they've had enough and want to scuttle off for their own vacation? They need to decide to up their game or move over for someone with more stamina, energy and understanding of customer service. Not somewhere for which I will hold fond memories. The exception to all this is the host of the pod who was bright and cheerful and could not be more helpful.

Plenty of places to eat.
Plenty of places to eat. Mallaig gets busy when the steam train(think Harry Potter) from Fort William arrives.
Surprisingly, many shops were closed on Saturday morning.
Great smoked fish and shellfish from Andy Race fish merchant, but shop not open on Saturday.
Ferry trips to Eigg, Rum, Skye and Knoydart(loch Nevis)
Probably the biggest hotel in Mallaig. It sits atop a wee hill with a large outdoor terrace and sun room overlooking the coast. The Isles of Eigg , Rum and Skye clearly in sight both from the front of the hotel and our room. Breakfast room was large and spacious with sea views and the grub was braw with tasty black and haggis puddings and all the usual stuff youd expect.
Donald was very welcoming on arrival .As we got there very late for check in time and
understanding. He also gave us a room upgrade which was lovely of him. As he didn't know this but,
we were on are honeymoon and on are last stay in Scotland which made it special thank you.
Seaview is a lovely place to stay and 10/10 for our room. Thank you.
everything was perfect. Good location, friendly hostess, hostess very helpful and answered all questions. I walked from Mallaig to Glenfinnan Viaduct and the Isle of Skye, so perfect base. I was even allowed to leave my things there after checking in, which was very nice for me. Pure recommendation!
The hotel was in a great location as Mallaig is not very large. Very close to the ferry terminal and all other restaurants.
It had probably the best restaurant in town and great staff. The breakfasts were also wonderful and made to order eggs prior to the ferry to Skye.
Harbor and sea views from our room.
Friendly staff.
Perfect location for trains and ferries.
Dog friendly.
The kitchen area with cooking facilities were a plus.
Affordable given its in central Mallaig where there's generally a shortage of (overpriced) accommodation.
We loved how comfortable and cosy the glamping pod was - we came to Mallaig for hiking and running, etc., so it was great to come back to a quiet, beautiful and warm pod (with a stunning view!) in the evenings, to rest up for the rest of the trip.
The location can't be beat as it is right next to the train station and very close to the ferries. It was central to everything I wanted to do in Mallaig, as a base for visiting Skye, Inverie and to visit the many shops and eateries in Mallaig.
A comfortable very spacious place that used to be a bank, in front of the ferry terminal with nice views of Mallaig harbor and in close proximity to nice restaurants, with all the facilities you could think of. The hosts were very friendly too!
Really lovely staff, very helpful and informative. We had to book last minute due to a cancelled ferry service and they were very accommodating. Mallaig can be a quiet place out of season (like most places) which can be very nice.
Locaed in the centre of Mallaig, close to shops, pubs and restaurants, also train station and ferry terminal.
Room was basic, with clean bedding and heating that works very well.
Would stay again!
Quaint stay in Mallaig since we wanted to catch the early morning ferry. The rooms are small but clean, with all necessities available! Pub food was decent, with really good desserts :)
The proximity of the lovely, quiet, beaches was wonderful. Fantastic for a beach based holiday and very close to Mallaig, which has a good few things to offer for a peaceful holiday.
This was my favourite stay on my entire 12 day trip to Scotland. The host was so helpful, the pod was so comfy, and the view was unbeatable. Don't hesitate to stay here.
