Delightful cottage to stay in as a family.
Great communication with the owner who was extremely accommodating. The house was spotless. Easy check in, welcomed by a cosy open fire. Extremely comfortable beds, loads of towels.
Local pub only a 5 min drive away and served lovely homemade food and pleasant staff. We hope to visit Tom's cottage one day again.

We were there to meet up with family so we didn't use many of the facilities that Longford has to offer. Limited range of good restaurants but lots of fast food places. Good central base to explore lots of Ireland.

This is a part of the country which I wouldn’t think of exploring but I’m so glad I did. I was on my way to a wedding in Roscommon and we stayed in Longford which was within a half hour drive. It was lovely to be by the banks of the Shannon and I will certainly visit again. We ate in “The Purple Onion” and as we waited for our taxi to collect us the proprietor treated us to a nightcap on the house.

Our stay involved walking the Longford Branch of the Royal Canal. This is an 8 km stretch of the canal. It is mostly filled in, but has an abundance of native trees growing where once the water flowed and is a haven for birds, butterflies and insects. The bridges still stand in all their glory which makes this stretch historically interesting. The Longford Branch ends at the junction where it meets the Royal Canal, about 2 km from Kilashee village. It is a tract of land well used by cyclists, but maintaining its own quiet rural feel to it.

Longford has so much to offer with the shannon and all its amenities very close by. The beautiful cathedral rebuilt after a devastating fire, a must see, demonstrating the wealth of local talant in the skills applied during the rebuild. But most of all the friendliness and warmth of the locals

Longford underestimates itself!
Longford underestimates itself! It has lots to see in a very compact town with theatre, cinema, golf and historic sites within easy reach. Great literary connections, from Goldsmith to Maria Edgeworth, poets Padraig Collum to modern day Vona Grourke.
The apartment is located across from St Mel's Cathedral in the heart of Longford Town with pubs, restaurants and takeaways all within a five-minute walk.
The property is tastefully furnished with a 2-seater couch, an armchair, and a TV. The kitchen ahd everyhing we needed such as a fridge (bonus points for ice in the freezer!), an electric hob, an oven and all manner of pots, pans and kitchen utensils.
A centrally located property opposite St Mels Cathedral great if you visiting Longford Town near to numerous restaurants and bars and a great alternative to hotels -the Host Gerry was outstanding meeting me on arrival and showed me around apartment-various snacks, cheese , bottled water and wine provided-such a relaxed nice interior-would highly recommend
Really enjoyable stay. Lovely apartment, clean, all the amenities you would need. Very central to town. Geraldine was lovely and helpful. Allowed check in early and the info provided for the check in etc was top quality. Huge two bedroom apartment with a great kitchen, sitting room and large bathroom. Would definitely recommend
The house is absolutely lovely, exceptionally clean, and has all the usual amenities, including coffee and tea in the room. The breakfast choices were extensive and beautifully prepared.
Matt, the host, was very accommodating and an excellent cook. I would recommend this B&B to anyone travelling in Longford or Roscommon.
The location is brilliant you couldn't get a better place to stay. Your right in the town center with a great view. Lovely clean apartment with all the mod cons. And lovely private court yard with gate to park the car. Would highly recommend if your ever in Longford! We had a great stay,Thank you.
Everything. The surroundings are an idyllic Irish countryside, the insides were immaculately clean, the room was like a four or five star hotel, and the breakfast was at a professional level. The only downside was that it set our expectations for the rest of the trip so high period.
The birds and the very rural location. The Asian restaurant in Longford is the best for vegetarians , who are extremely badly catered for in that town as a whole. The hut is extremely well designed , feels very new and has everything needed for one or two nights..
Super clean, super modern, very very kind owner, rooms were a good size, an close to Longford marathon start line. Owner let me get a shower an before I checked out even though it was a late checkout Last of all, very cheap
We booked this room at the last minute on a bank holiday weekend. It is in downtown Longford City. The self-check-in and out were easy. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfy.
Expensively and elegantly refurbished rooms in the old stables of a country house.
Convenient for visits to the Famine Museum in nearby Strokestown.
Free parking, good breakfast.
Lovely aparetment, good value, quiet, and only five mins from Longford. Will book again without hesitation. Bathroom is totally open, no surround privacy screening .. 😱
I thought the situation and the position of the Apartments were perfect for what we wanted ! You could walk around Town easily and shops all accessible.
