The hotel is in a beautiful setting and elegantly designed. The staff were very attentive to our needs and extremely helpful!
The food was very tasty- breakfast had a great mix of Indian dishes as well European/continental items. We also loved dinner in the Vemband restaurant - some of the best we had in Kerala.
We loved relaxing overlooking the lake and by the pool! The cultural show and tea in the afternoon that is served was also wonderful.

Owner family were very warm and welcoming, and they helped me arrange a shikara boat trip.Location excellent and quiet, the room is clean, and there is a bird sanctuary nearby. I woke up to the singing of birds in the morning. It was a very friendly place to stay like home. You can ask them for activities and they will try their best to help you arrange them. The evening shikara ride was great for our group and was at the right price point - 2000 rupees for 2 hours for 2 families. The bird sanctuary was a big disappointment as there is not much to see and the facilities are also very poor - of the two bird watching towers one is damaged and other does not have a great view. Not many species of birds could be seen or heard, its more of a nature walk than a bird sanctuary.

As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise.
As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise. As the gates shut the noise and hustle bustle of an Indian town were left outside.
The beautiful old buildings in heritage style, lovely garden with trees and the only sound that of birdsong. It didn’t end there. All the staff from Vaisakh the Manager, Amal the Chef, the lady helping in the kitchen and the lady constantly sweeping the floors and working in the garden were helpful, courteous and always had a cheerful smile. The two men were happy to enter into conversations with us when they were not busy. They also responded immediately when asked for anything.
The food was delicious and well cooked but they found it amusing that we couldn’t handle the chillis in some of the dishes.
The pool was clean and cool and very welcoming in the heat.
We spent a very happy and relaxing week at Brookside Heritage Resort and it was the best place to start our Kerala adventure after a long and arduous journey from the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in a property that gave us half-board meals (dinner and breakfast) and had in-house activities such as a sunset boat cruise and an evening cultural show. All this reinforced the kerala theme and made for a wonderful experience.

The backwaters are unique with water lilies and a wide variety of birds that can be viewed in a Shikara at dawn. A houseboat to spend the day and enjoy local cuisine served using fresh fish caught and sold by fisherwomen on the banks is a fabulous experience.

Kumarakom is a lovely back water locality, away from the hustle bustle of the city. Its a relaxing environment where you can disconnect from the busy world outside and yet if you need to get back to it, it's just nearby.
Divya and Dileep have made a lovely homestay in an idyllic location. The quiet location adds to the tranquility of the stay, with multiple boating facilities on hand to explore the backwaters. Divya made us a fabulous lunch to take on our cruise, which was really delicious and made the experience extra special! We really enjoyed staying at Mango Kerala and with amazing value for money, we’d recommend it to anyone travelling around the state. Thank you!
The homestay was located at a best view point at kumarakom. You can wake up viewing the sunrise from the balcony. The room is very clean with all the facilities. Staffs are so friendly. They were continuously assisting us from beginning. The price is very cheap and so affordable. The staffs arranged us a crise ride for a very cheap rate. Also the food was so delicious. I highly recommend mountde kumarakom for the couples and also for the families
Location was very special, right next to Lake Vembanad. Reached via a 5 min canoe ride from the hotel’s car park. Incredibly peaceful spot overlooking the lake watching the bird life ( saw more birds, eagles, egrets, kingfishers than the local Kurmarakom Bird Sanctuary!)
All Staff super friendly and helpful.
Very nice large, clean pool.
Meals good.
Wonderful sunsets!
One of the best properties I have visited in Kumarakoam. The staff was really friendly and service was top notch. Special appreciation to Mr. Noyal Front Office Manager, Pardeep Housekeeping, Executive Chef and the entire team. Food was really up to the mark and well prepared. The location is also quite nice. I would say this is a must visit place if you are in Kochi.
My wife & I visited Little Chembaka from Australia for 3 nights & what a treat that was!
One of the owners, Vimal went absolutely above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
If you're after a genuine, local, proper foodie experience in the stunning Kumarakom backwaters we highly recommend this little gem.

We stayed for two nights. Perfect location, everything was new or looked new. Everything was clean even to Swiss Standards.
Also a better AC than other hotels we stayed in during our trip.
Food was excellent and they also served breakfast on the balcony after we asked. Got a view of the rising sun with our coffee.
We stayed in the private pool villa, the experience was just magical. It was the best hotel I ever stayed in by far. Trees, birds, butterflies and bats... You will be surrounded by wild exotic birds and palm squirrels singing. Don't miss 7:00AM birdwatching. This is honestly a birders' heaven.
The pool was really nice and the way it was located right by the lake looks so beautiful when the sun sets.
Food was really good although the variety of the breakfast buffet could have been better.
The staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful.
- flexible with unplanned late check-in
- host very kind, excellent conversation

- bird watching possible just by footwalk (Sanctuary visit not needed)

Amazing property - beautiful views, good and new rooms. We also took a 2-hour boat ride that we found was for a reasonable price, and the views along the backwater were stunning. Really peaceful sitting staring out along the backwaters.
