We were given a room on the third floor, thankfully there was a lift. The room was spacious, bed was comfy.
Breakfast was varied and plenty of it.

This is my second time staying here and I will be coming back again. Amazing place to stay. Surrounded by mountains and a going for a swim/soak outside is just wonderful. Having a small kitchen area to cook is a real bonus too.

Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse.
Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse. We updated our arrival time, but the hotel did not give a reply. During check in, we showed our reservation letter to a elder staff, but she said no:( and was not friendly. They did also not inform us gate will be closed and the room key can't open the gate!. Because of puncture, we came back to the hotel around 1 o'clock in the morning and the gate was closed. We have to call the staff. Fortunately, that elder staff came to open the gate, but she seemed unhappy and blamed us when we check out.LMH92Denmark - 10Scored 10

It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland. We stay here for five nights. While we were here we rested from our trip around the South. It feels like a home or a good hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were super clean, two kitchens available for cooking, WiFi is fast and the hotpots looked nice — we arrived too late to give it a try. This makes the price-quality-ratio pretty good for a night. In comparison to many Icelandic guest houses where you can easily feel ripped or , this is a nice positive surprise. Recommended!

They left us a gift of a pair of horse shoes as a keepsake. It is outside of any cities and turned out to be a great place to watch the northern lights. They provide a small breakfast of yogurt, fruit and juice which was sufficient for some of us. There is a town about 15 minutes away that has a hotel restaurant and a gas station with a restaurant.

The place is so calm and peaceful, around you there's just grass, sheeps (but don't expect any noise: we have never been disturbed by them) and a beautiful wiew. Inside, everything seems to express care for the customer and Disa is a friendly owner. We will come back for sure!

The setting is rural - we selected this place because we wanted to visit the natural hot spring at Fossalaug which is quite close to the property and has no changing rooms etc. The breakfast was good.
