GORGEOUS GORGEOUS! This is the epitome of Lake Como. Their grounds are on a botanical garden with wonderful photo opportunities. The room was large with a great view of the lake. They gave us a thank you package upon checkout and booked the shuttle to the train station for us.

Loved the huge balcony that had an amazing view of the lake and ferry dock. Loved that you could walk out the door just a few steps and get on ferry. Room was larger and clean, comfy bed. Great free breakfast. LOVED IT!

Great amenities. Full kitchen including dishwasher and laundry. Large patio, partially covered and rest in full sun. Large and comfy apartment. Location next to train station was convenient, but a lot of foot traffic from about 10 AM until 7 PM or so.

The location was planning perfect. Varenna is beautiful lake town with excellent views and a perfect jumping off point for the lake. Hermes was an amazing host and wonderful person. We loved our stay and will definitely come again.

Ideal location for visiting other towns on the lake, Bellagio, Menaggio & Tremenzenno all a short distance away. Ferries are frequent & very punctual. One hour train ride into Milan, not that frequent so check the times.

Don't miss Villa Monastero! Lovely gardens walking along the lakeside and tours inside were only offered on weekends. Check hours before going. A few restaurants within walking distance of the ferry. Bar Moto has spectacular views from the water.

Easy walk about town.
Easy walk about town. Wear good walking shoes steps are steep and not always a handrail. Beautiful gardens and scenery. Easy hop on a ferry to go to the other towns. Hike up to the castle is 30 min. I would have felt more comfortable with a walking stick. Make sure to have water.

Picturesque and just charming. Loved the waterfront, walking on the bridge, flowers, vibe and restaurants on the water. Ferry efficient and pleasant, easy to access other towns. We love Varenna more. The hotel location is great, close (5 min walk) to the train if you are traveling by train, close ( 5 minute walk) to the ferries if you want to use the ferries, close to the start of one of the trails to the castle (2 min walk), and a short walk from everything else. This was the last 2 nights of our two week trip and it was hard to leave. Varenna is unassuming but easy to get to via train or ferry. We had the family room which was a good size with a balcony and close to the lake, and although basic it was fine for us. Good breakfast. Although it is over a bar, the bar wasn't open late so no noise at night, apart from Saturday night when there was some music late from an adjacent property.
