The majority of the rooms are beachfront/beach view. Great, ultra-modern shower & toilet. Good location on perimeter road; quiet (except for the surf)! Pleasant staff. Remote controlled window blind. Refrigerator. WiFi. A comfortable mix of up-to-date and traditional. Room (double with two beds) is on the small side as far as dealing with suitcases, etc., but not impossible

The room is modern, great ocean view with a big balcony, lost of privacy and the bathtub with ocean view is amazing! The hotel is very nice and the staff did their best to help and answer all our questions. We took a private tour to the famous Moss Forests and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide! She was super knowledgeable and went out of her way to make our hike an unforgettable experience (Mish Higashi). We where able to rent all the hiking gear that we needed for our tour.

We like the high wooden ceilings of the cottage.Bathroom was nice, all wood, newly remodeled. It was also nice to have a private garden that was away from the road with deck, table, chairs and hammock.

The host made a reservation of a rental car on behalf of us at the peak season, which greatly helped us. We had breakfast every day (1,800 yen per person) during our stay and they were great. The dishes include grilled mackerel/salmon, several cooked vegetables/sea weeds, soup, and yogurt. We also had a nice dinner (3,200 yen per person) including grilled amberjack, amberjack sashimi, smoked mackerel, and braised pork belly.

Just 15 minutes from Yakushima Airport on the free shuttle, Tashiro Annex offers air-conditioned Japanese rooms with a private bathroom and river or forest views.

The guesthouse was clean with shared kitchen, toilet and bathroom. Coffee and washing machine were available for free. Hide, the owner was very kind and helpful. He even dropped me to Miyanoura port. Great value for money. I’ll stay there again if I come to Yakushima again.

Very good location, good wifi and parking right next to the building. Bus stop is also right in front of the building. The facilities are simple, but basic standard for japanese guest houses. There are recommendations and pamphlets available for what to do in Yakushima. Also the price is very fair.

Ridiculously Close to the harbor

Deep in nature, right next to a river that you overlook from the bed room. Fitting for 4~6 people, very well equipped kitchen, homely feel in a very clean mountain cottage. The owner lives next door and even gave us a try in their Goemon bath which is a traditional Japanese bath heated by wood. The drive up to the cottage is also amazing, it is a good 30 minute drive to the closest town but when in Yakushima, it’s an experience to stay in the mountain. No problem with the Wifi, there is no service though so phone calls should be made before coming up the mountain. Recommend to check in before the sunset.
