Featuring a bar and a restaurant, Hotel Refresh Blue is situated in Hikkaduwa. This 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with a private bathroom.

It was the last 4 days of our travel around Sri Lanka and it was the best way to end our trip. The location is beautiful, right on the beach. I think all the rooms have sea views. The rooms are very spacious, the air conditioning was perfect, not pointed directly at you when you sleep (we hate that). It is nice to sleep and listen to the waves. We also had dinner 2 times and it was wonderful - you have to try the Sri Lankan curries! The beach is nice, long stretch, lots of surfers, lots of bars. The waves are huge though, so be careful with kids - there is baywatch and they look very carefully and immediately tell you if you are "out of your way". A nice beach for swimming and snorkelling (safe) is Hikkaduwa Beach (5min with tuk-tuk) - I haven't seen so many fish in my life! They seem to have lots of weddings in this hotel and it was beautiful to watch all the lovely dresses.

Our host Peter was the sweetest, most enthusiastic and lovable host, an absolute delight! And the breakfast... soooo amazing! We only have good words for this place and would definitely recommend!

    The area had a good mix of shops, bars etc and prices were reasonable. You can choose to stay in central higher end hotels or cheaper options on the periphery but tuktuks only cost about 700rps from one end to the other. Perhaps 1500rps in the evening. We preferred staying outside the main area because it was much quieter but so easy to walk into town along the beautiful beach.

    Lots of choice of food available from vegan/vegetarian (steffi mandala) amazing noodles and a good chilled vibe on the beach or probably the best sea food restaurant unfortunately road side was Bambinis look it up, food is excellent and a very good price. We'll stocked supermarkets. A good accommodation choice either beach or jungle.

    Hikkaduwa is good and easy, very tourists friendly for friends, families and couples. Opportunities to snorkel, surf, swim and relax on the beach. There is also big techno parties on some nights and they will make too much noise through the night but it is just on night time to time.

There are many surfing schools for all levels. the beach is also very nice and clean, the water is tansparent, some people say the waves are too big, but if you swim a little bit further - it just absolutelly ok.

    Hikkaduwa is big village and it has two beaches: near the village center (beach called Hikkaduwa) and further south stretching to Dodanduwa (this beach is called Narigama). Narigama is much better beach for sun bathing and swimming. It has wider and less steep slope. Plenty of cafes to eat and rent/get a sun bed on different budget.

    Hikkaduwa was good choice for holidays as is close to airport and provide excelent opportunity to relax, taste local foods and be part of local culture and community. You can enjoy waves and walking along the beach or take a trip to any desired location, or taste fresh sea foods directly on the market or be part of local party. Kids could learn surfing or jumping in playful waves.

    The rooms were very clean and tidy. The view and location are exceptional. It's directly at the beach and there are palm trees right at the property. Also, Viraj offered to prepare breakfast for us. You should definitely go with the Sri Lankan style breakfast. Each day we got something different (eg. egg hoppers, string hoppers, dal, some kind of coconut milk rice and more). And a fresh fruit platter was part of it each day. Viraj and his family are very kind and helpful people. They will make your stay unforgettable.

    Great hotel in good location at quieter end of Hikkaduwa. Good to have the pool as the sea can be challenging here ( it is calmer a few hundred metres along the beach towards Hikkaduwa). Free loungers with towels on the beach. Our poolside room was very well furnished with plenty of sockets and large good quality bathroom. Food and drink very reasonably priced. Good breakfast and coffee. Best of all were the staff who are all very friendly and helpful.

    Lovely accomodations in a characterful and charming but not ostentatious hotel. Staff were superb. From the reception to the restaurant I was extremely well cared for. I typically don't stay in resorts/accomodations of this caliber but I am very glad I chose to spend a few days here. The food was excellent, loved the pool and access to the beach, too. I was even able to work on my laptop from the lounge chairs on the beach, the WiFi was that good!

    Easily the best place we stayed at in Sri Lanka! The room was big and comfortable. Everything was very clean. They greeted us with a cool coconut when we arrived. The family will make you feel right at home. They helped us do anything we needed. We are so grateful for them! The breakfast was incredible and super tasty! Thank you so much, if we come back to Hikkaduwa we will definitely stay again!

    A beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean and run by Rohan and his lovely family. If your planning a trip to Hikkaduwa then I recommend you stay at he Ritz. It's centrally located and easy acces to he beach and nearby restaurants. The nicest room we've had in our stay in Sri Lanka. A lovely kitchen and a pool that you won't want to get out off. Couldn't ask for much more.

    The rooms are very spacious and big, with the perfect ocean view through the big windows. There are sun umbrellas with sun beds on the beach which are free. Nearby there are a lot of shops, restaurants with different prices (ones on a road are better, than on a beach), cheap surfpoints for the very beginners. Very kind and friendly staff!

    We spend our first few nights in Sri Lanka here. It was the perfect place to start our trip and had everything we needed. The dinner was great, the people working there were amazing. We really loved the natural and relaxed vibe we got there. Even tough it was super near to the main street it felt like we were in the middle of the jungle.

    This was absolutely the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The room was spacious with a nice big balcony and comfortable bed. There was a fast Internet and hot water.     The hotel is run by a sri lankan family, which is so nice and helpful! They always have a smile for you and help with everything!
