The owner is very friendly and can speak English and Spanish. He lives on the premises.
If you don’t want to go into town they make breakfast for you for an additional charge. He has told me that he is putting in air conditioning in most of the rooms.

We loved the King-sized bed, and nice pillows. Many places do not have those. The stairs down to the veach was a long trek, so we drive to the beach. A newer made hand rail is essential to replace. And it seemed the photo of the swimming pool made it look longer, and it was ‘t.
I loved the small refreshing pool.
There were many nice features at the Posada, but we were disappointed in the stairs and lack of a hand rail. The price was the best!

Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature.
Mazunte is the perfect combo of comfort and nature. It’s very small but lively with shops and restaurants and the atmosphere remains quite and friendly. For even more tranquility I recommend spending the days on the beach at San Angustinillo, and heading back in town for dinner. Temazcal ceremonies at Kakao Kali are a must try if you’re on a healing journey. I was also happy to take a boat ride to see the dolphins and sea turtles.

This is a hip vibe place to be.
This is a hip vibe place to be. The busy streets, the beach goers. The constant revelry. This place is a Pueblo Magico so it has a standard that was met. Pueblo Magico towns offer an experience that is reflective in the most part to that area of Mexico. This town did not disappoint, but go down the road to Zipolite, and you will understand that the conformity of Mazunte, is pleasing to the eye and walk able (somewhat). The area's that seem pedestrian for the visitors are often used as service roads for vehicle traffic, and if you are from North of America, pediatricians have the right away. Not the case here, the car, or motorbike is king, stay to the side, and don't get lost in the karma of the place, because someone will be down your back in no time. Be careful.

Loved Mazunte by the beach!
Loved Mazunte by the beach! The beach area hotels are much quieter than the ones by the main road.
Good food is plentiful and easy to find.
Everyone gathers at the beach to watch the sunset!
Word of warning; come with pesos because ATM machines often run out of cash or are not working. Learned this the hard way.

We love this quaint little beach town.
We love this quaint little beach town. You are living each day with and like the locals. Grab some fresh fruit, local coffee, and local pastry treat and hang out on Main Street with the locals and enjoy the atmosphere.
The beaches are beautiful and not crowded although the current is quite strong in some areas. 2 beaches just 5 minutes away or another maybe 10 minute walk. Greet the spectacular sunrise each morning on the beach with sun salutations, yoga, jogging, swimming or enjoy a short boat ride to see whales, dolphins, turtles and msntarays. Sport fishing is available too,

Small beach town with not much going on besides beach,...
Small beach town with not much going on besides beach, tourist clothing shops and dining options. The ocean is beautiful but a bit rough at the time we visited in early November. You can rent an umbrella to have shade. There appeared to be a little night life on a few small roads leading to the beach but we didn’t go there for that so I can’t speak from experience.
Posada Olivo is a wonderful place to stay. The matured garden is gorgeous with lots of decorative touches. There is a well functional outdoor communal kitchen which could be very handy for someone who likes to prepare their own meals while staying in the area. I liked our room with a private terrace, and a large bed that was very comfortable. The location is also great right between Mazunte and Augustinilli beach. The host Marco was very welcoming and gave good us good advice about what to do and where to eat.
The staff are lovely! Super friendly and accommodating. No bugs can get into the rooms as they have sliding doors and mosquito screens. The hotel is still very new so the rooms feel super fresh. Comfy beds too! I rented an ATV so I could easily hop between Mazunte, San Agustinillo and Zipolite, but on days when the traffic into SA was bad (between Xmas and NYE) it takes 5 mins to walk down the hill into San Agustinillo to the beach or to my fav food place, Umami.
Both King rooms we stayed in were huge and beautifully decorated. The pool was lovely after a hot day. Kitchen facilities were top quality. It’s a short, safe walk (approximately 7 minutes) on a flat but unpaved road to the main street in Mazunte. Another 10 minutes to the beach. No hills so good for any fitness level. We would definitely stay again!
The entire stay was exceptional. Amazing (AMAZING) owners and staff who were helpful and kind. Excellent and quiet location that's the perfect location between Mazunte and San Augustinillo. Really good WiFi for some work I had to take care of. Super comfortable beds and pillows. Great shower. I could go on and on...
Everything about it was perfect.
The views and the exclusivity of this hotel are special. Very few rooms (I believe 8) make this a true boutique hotel.
You can have breakfast on your balcony looking at the ocean and the food is delicious, we had several meals at the hotel and everything was very good.
Also - take a yoga class! We had a lot of fun!
An oasis in the bust little town of Mazunte. Lovely gardens surrounding the shared kitchen. The hostess and staff were so friendly and helpful. They really made us feel welcome.
Perfect location close to the beach and town, and just off a busy road.
Great location just off what seemed to be one of the main streets of Mazunte. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a short walk to the beach. An initial bottle of water was provided. The room was very clean and the ladies there were very nice.
The view of the ocean and beach below was amazing. The Catalonian Chef, John, puts this place over the top. We had 3 superb Gourmet meals here at a great price. I would recommend the hotel for the food alone.
The restaurant is excellent for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The drinks are good too . The rooms are clean and comfortable and are air conditioned. The hotel staff and restaurant staff are frienly and helpful.
good location, close to mazunte beach and a 15 minute walk to san agustinillo..
nice staff (didn’t speak English though),
restaurant and convenience store on site
aircons in rooms are a plus and wifi was good
We had a great stay in Casa Mazunte Tierra Viva. The people are super friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and the Coffee in the morning is really nice! Thank you:)
Beautiful apartment in a very calm and clean environment in the hills of Mazunte
The host was extremely caring and even helped me to organize a doctor coming to the hotel
After slumming it for a few days this hotel was next to where I was staying . Big comfy bed , running water and a balcony to sit on and watch the world go by . Recommend
It's the only affordable option in Mazunte. The clip on the lock in my room was broken and the owner, to his credit, did eventually fix it after asking twice
The hotel has a great view and it's a nice place to get away from the heat below - sit by the pool and feel the breeze. The staff are very kind and helpful.
