The view is wonderful, with a clear sight to the mountains. We had a ground floor room with a ' terrace' but the roof over it leaked so the seating got wet.
The bed was ok, sheets nice and fresh and clean. as were the towels.
Some renovations seem to have been made, new curtains?

AMAZING STAY!! I do not have enough Accolades to express how much we enjoyed our stay.
If you are going to Doubtful Sound... THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!! You will be sleeping before the rest of the boat tour is 1/2 way back to their hotel!
This place is middle of Alpaca Farm, unit/building is a very private but a part of a larger barn/storage structure. Unit was large and immaculate. There is fridge cooktop microwave pots pans dishwasher plates silverware. Also, a Washer and Dryer which we found EXTREEMLY handy for middle of out 3-week NZ trip. Bed was very nice and we slept perfectly for our 3-night stay.
There is a Jacuzzi 10 steps from the unit that was wonderful to use at night. We followed the owners written instructions to turn the water temp up and down before and after use. This practice will save owners monies hence, save you(who is reading this) keeping the rental rate down, Be mindful of Jacuzzis are expensive to run and upkeep. It is FANTASTIC owner have this enjoyable feature!
I had great correspondence with the owner through Booking, com prior to our visit. However, owner was out of town the days we were there. There is a Lady(I do not recall her name) that tended to the Alpaca Farm while they were away. This Lady gave us tour of farm where you could pet and feed Alpacas. I can not say enough about the hospitality this lady gave us during our stay. She provided WONDERFULL tips about Doubtful, Milford sounds as well as great information about our travels to Wanaka and Mt Cook. She was such a delight to speak with she represents the owners wonderfully as a host!
Owner recycles/filters rain water which was amazing. Water tastes like "nothing" simply the way water should taste, refreshing and cold right from tap. Far cry from any city water or well water. We filled all our water bottles before we left.
DO NOT MISS THIS EXPERIENCE!! It is stay and hospitality, we will forever remember on our NZ visit!

Excellent farm stay for mind and body relaxation. It was secluded, away from any city pollution. Excellent hosts (Breidi and Bred), with amazing staff (special shout-out to Chef Diego for his culinary skills). Great view of lake Minaoupri.

Very nice, if dated in a clean and pleasant manner, river view/fishing enthusiast home. We took a boat tour of Doubtful Sound and walked from our property, via a nearby walkway, to the waterfront on Lake Manapouri from whence the tour commenced. Less than 200 meters. Well appointed kitchen.

The hotel was fantastic. Location right on the lake with great views, very very friendly staff and good clean rooms. We were late one morning to breakfast (which is also a huge great buffet) and they let us get a good breakfast anyway. Everyone there is super friendly. Parking is right out the door so that is very easy too. Great value and experience for our family.

Manapouri is a very small, lakefront town that has a beautiful view of Lake Manapouri and the mountains beyond. It also has a fantastic cafe/bar/restaurant called The Church, which I thoroughly recommend. However, don't stay at the Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn if you can avoid it.

Manapouri is a quiet place with few amenities, does have a church pub restaurant which was great, a must visit . And an antique traders shop and cafe and petrol.
Station . The area is very close to the Doubtful
Sound cruise terminal, which has cruises daily into Doubtful
Sound which takes you across lake Manapouri .
The lake is tranquil
And unspoilt with walking and cycling tracks along its shores.

there was a lack of staff as the barman was waiter as well as reception so a long wait for any service at the bar and a long wait for the meals which were absolutely shocking

Beautiful part of the country.
Beautiful part of the country. Great day trip with NZ real to Doubtful Sounds. Staff so friendly and informative. Day 2 went to the glow worms cave, shorter trip. A great experience again with NZ real tours. These guys are a great team of young people and made the tours very friendly 10 out of 10. Ate at the Fat Duck 1 night, enjoyed very mouth full, serves was excellent. the ranch the next tonight where you could get a lovely roast meal for $25. In manapouri we visited and wonderful antique store in view street. I purchased a couple of lovely things. Well worth a look and you can spend half an hour there easily. Te anua is the place to stay though not in Manapouri unless you have a boat.
Possum Lodge is a combination campground and motel. We stayed in one of the cottages and despite its obvious age, found it to be clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The host was friendly and helpful. The nearby lake (Manapouri) was stunning. We had a wonderful experience meeting the locals in the local pub. Highly recommended unless you are looking for a 5 star resort :=)
Our stay at Cabot Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip to NZ. It is a magical, idyllic location and our hosts Brad and Breidi and their team welcomed us with kindness and thoughtfulness in their attention to detail. We would definitely go back and stay longer next time we are in NZ! We HIGHLY recommend this most amazing experience at Cabot Lodge!

Clean and comfortable
Great blackout curtains
Fully equipped house
Easy check-in
Lovely owners
Close to Pearl Harbour (10 min walk) if you are doing Doubtful Sound cruise
Close to The Church Manapouri where you can grab some delicious dinner
We enjoyed the outdoor spa and getting up close to the alpacas. It was a pleasant 15min walk into Manapouri. Jesse and Ray are a lovely couple and gave us a very warm welcome. There is a well equipped kitchen. Beautiful scenery all around.
The history of the house and the owners was very interesting. The location is fantastic and very handy for the Doubtful Sound cruise. The breakfast was the best we had on our 4 week trip.
The historic aspect of this house. Later on we saw the original pic of the house in the visitor center of Doubtful Sound.
Perfect location to spend the night before an early DS cruise.
We appreciated having enough beds for our family group of five. We were lovely and warm and had everything we needed.
We were also perfectly situated for our Doubtful Sound adventure.
The view was amazing!! The staff is very friendly and also the lake is just across the street. It’s very well Located if you want to visit doubtful sounds or even mildford sounds :)
Great Property. It has everything you need including full kitchen and laundry. Large house. Great space for families to holiday. Is also a short drive to town or lake Te Anau.
The Property was tucked in a beautiful part of Southland, Manapouri with the view of the mountains, lakes, rivers, and Fraser’s Beach right around the corner.
The location straight across the road from Lake Manapouri was excellent. That’s where anything positive i have to say about this filthy run down hotel stops.
