This hotel has a great location - always sunny around it. Rooms are clean, staff is really welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast, vegan jogurt and milk could be found. Fresh juice and great fruit choices. 2 really great restaurants next to the hotel. Short promenade to walk by the ocean. Rooms have great view. The pool is nice too. The spa services - massage - was perfect.

We stayed in 3 different apartments on the island, this by far was the best! The apartment is super clean, the host Marlinia is very nice and responsive, the beds are very comfortable and the ocean view is stunning.
Bus stop is 1 minute away so it's not a problem if you don't have a car, and if you do, the parking is great as well!
The host also provides complementary fruits, wine and honey cake as a welcome package!

Among the best vacation rentals. Fabulous view, spacious and clean, easy walk to the coast with excellent snorkeling opportunities. Host was incredibly helpful and responsive. I couldn't recommend more.

Canico itself has not much to offer, but it is a quiet, clean neighborhood and a 12 min drive from both Funchal and the Airport, however most of the things to do was either in the heart of the island or at the northern part, so be ready to drive around. Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops...
Caniço is a lovely little place to stay with plenty of shops/bars/restaurants. There are many large hotels in the area but it is possible to keep away from them and the associated mass tourism. There is a great sea front walk from the public car park leading to a great restaurant mainly frequented by the locals and this is about 10-15 mins away from the centre.

Nice apartment, very close to the beach and good proximity to Funchal. There are some small things that were missing like shower gel :(, shampoo, soap, beach towels ... also we had some problems with the entrance door in the building but this was resolved fast with the help of neighbors. If you want to visit Madeira, you definitely need to rent a car. I recommend a small car like a Fiat500 or a Fiat Panda because the roads in the cities and villages can be really (I mean REALLY) narrow.

The house is close to restaurants, shops, Reis Magos beach, and even walking to Cristo Rei was possible ( great views). The house has everything you need. A fully equipped kitchen , outdoor space to relax, a nice living room. The host Paulo and Rodrigo were welcoming & helpful. They allowed a flexible check-in/ checkout. Nice view of the sea from the balcony. Public transportation to funchal is good but you have to make a study of the departure times.The island is exceptional. It's not a beach island, and you really need transport to get around to explore. All was good.
