It’s a self check-in hotel. Very easy to access. The bedroom is clean and the bed y confortable. What I liked the most is that you hace a kitchen a 3 tables for everyone to use, so you can have a quick breakfast or dinner close to your room. It is also very well located, 1minute walk from the Botanical Garden.
They also offer you 10% discount for the restaurant next to the hotel and the Cozido it very good.
Wonderful place to stay in Furnas! It is quiet, but 5 minute walk to everything. Below is our itinerary for the three days we stayed here:
Tuesday, July 4th
Day- Lagao de Fogo was slammed and required a shuttle (no cars after 9:00) so secret waterfalls, beach at Praia de Fogo and Lagoa de Furnas
Evening- Dinner at Mirando (Civado Stew is delicious and pudding/chorizo)
Wednesday, July 5th
Monring- early breakfast and hike Salto de Prego
Day- road trip to Nordeste, beaches, miraduros, hike, tea Plantation Gorreana
Evening- hot pools at Breija and A Quinta outside for dinner
Thursday, July 6th
Morning- hike waterfalls at Gena (go before 9:30 so not crowded)
Day- Lunch and hot pools at Terra Nostra Hotel and Gardens
Dinner- Tea at Chalet Tia Merces, sunset at Mirador Pico de Ferras (amazing)

Beautiful destination full with bubbling hot waters, "jurastic" parks, hot thermal baths and potable springs. Do not miss to see how the Cozido is cooked on the hot waters and to taste it at Miroma restaurant or Tony's. From here, go to the free of charge park with nice waterfalls Jardim Botânico da Ribeira do Guilherme. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, definitely make a reservation to Centro de Interpretação Ambiental da Caldeira Velha and visit the Gorreana tea plantation if you like.

Beautiful spot was pleasantly surprised by the amount of things available in the local shop, we had a perfect kitchen for cooking so we didn't get to eat and can't comment on the local restaurants.

Furnas has a lot of interesting features- gardens, thermal baths, spa, Cozido meal, and restaurants.
It is easy to walk around
It is also handy to a lot of the other places . Sete Cidades was about the furthest away and took about 1 hour .
We really liked staying in one spot and doing day trips from there .
We ate at Tony’s right in walking distance both for our Cozido lunch and another evening for dinner .

Our in town stay in Furnas was just right for us but 3 days...
Our in town stay in Furnas was just right for us but 3 days (vs. 5) would be sufficient if time was an issue. We did not have a car and took a taxi from Ponta Delgada (45 Euros) and everything in Furnas was within walking distance of our Casa Alivas unit including Furnas Lake, the fumarolas cooking cozido (local stew), Parque Grena and Jose do Canto forest garden & waterfall located around the lake (about a 45-50 min walk from town center) . Additionally, Terra Nostra Garden was 2 blocks from our accommodation as well as many "discoveries" just walking through the town area including a cascading waterfall & aquarium at a local park where you can put your feet in the warm water, the steaming thermal calderas at another part of town, many restaurants, fruit shops, markets, & stores along with several historic buildings and sites. The bakery/cafe of Gloria Moniz (2 locations--go to the one called "Bolos Levados") is not only helpful & friendly but provides an excellent opportunity to try local tasty treats while enjoying an outdoor garden setting. Bolos Levados are a local Portuguese sweet muffin good for sandwiches or toast. Must try.
We like to hike and walk so exploring Furnas was a worthwhile part of our 2 week adventure to Sao Miguel.
The Spa treatments where really nice as is the spa area in general. The staff is super friendly and helpful.
We got a spa treatment for free as a gift for our honeymoon which we were really happy about. The restaurant is also amazing and has also some vegetarian options which is not a given in the Azores ;)
Breakfast was excellent!
We stayed here at the end of our Azores trip and had already explored the other half of the island therefore we did not need a car to explore the area around Furnas from the hotel.
The hotel was the perfect place to stay in Furnas! The rooms were comfortable and super clean. It‘s location was quite central why it was easy to reach many attractions from there. But one of the most Importan aspects was that all employees were extremely friendly and always ready to help us when we had a question.
So all in all I would totally recommend Vale Verde Hotel and would always stay there again if I come back to Saõ Miguel!
I recently stayed at this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable, providing a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The quiet surroundings added to the overall tranquility, creating a perfect retreat. The remote location, away from the hustle and bustle, contributed to a peaceful stay. I highly recommend this hotel for those seeking comfort, serenity, and a getaway from the usual urban noise
The location and space was perfect for us. The owner was responsive. It was spotlessly clean and provided everything for a short stay.it is very quiet in the apartment even though the main door is on a busy street. Parking across the road was easy and free. The location allowed us to walk to the gardens and restaurants.
Great location for Furnas - within walking distance of hot springs. Staff were friendly and helpful. We used the free bikes to ride around the lake which was great. Breakfast was very good - selection of fruit, cereal, bread, cheese etc, pancakes and eggs on request. The room was comfy and clean, with views to nature.
Location is excellent. Takes only minutes to walk to all the things you would want to do in Furnas. Great restaurants and snack bar right on the street. The home is big and the master bed is extremely comfortable- we overslept every day! Great back area for entertaining, cooking or relaxing.
Location is perfect, overlooking Poca da Dona Beija thermal pools. Walking distance to stores and restaurants. Host was very responsive when I called or messaged with questions and issues. Off-street parking and great outdoor space. Was perfect for our trip with 3 children.
Qunita d'Agua was a little bit of paradise on Lake Furnas. The property was private, remote and full of beautiful trees and gardens. We were met upon arrival and all communication was responded to. Thank you for a great stay!
The location is absolutely perfect! Walking distance to so much in Furnas. The apartment was adorable, clean and comfortable with laundry! (which they don't mention) an absolute gem to stay
We had really enjoyed our stay at Domus Vallis. The apartment is very cozy and well equipped. It is in a perfect location to explore Furnas. We would recommend it anytime
It’s a small cozy hotel, perfect to avoid the hustle and enjoy a great relaxing time. Amazing staff, so helpful and charming. The spa treatments are superb too!
