A bit ruff exterior got me worried at arrival. But very cosy inside with a living room feeling. And the room was spacious for a family of three. The breakfast was good, but a bit crowded when we entered. We needed to wait for a while to get a table and some food was missing. But the staff had the courage to ask those who had already finished their breakfast to leave. Great!

Vasteras is a midsize town on the shore of what to me seemed like large lake, later I realised it was see deep in the middle of Sweden with beautiful islands, deep forests around. The city center is small but nice.

Fifth city of Sweden, located at a big lake.
Fifth city of Sweden, located at a big lake. The city is not very big but has some nice park and canals.
There are two nice cosy recreation harbours with nice eateries like Argrill and Bryggans bar.
The Steamhotel is very impressive and very well renovated. It also has a sky bar with a great view. Sauna facilities could be used for non hotel guests as well.
Restaurant Limone is one of the best places to eat pasta’s, during lunch time prices are more attractive.
You can easily travel from Vasteras cs to arlanda airport by buss nettbuss or flixbus. To Stockholm a train is a better option.

I liked the lake.
I liked the lake. But there's also some historic buildings such as the cathedral. The free art and local museums are worth a visit Most of the tourist city is in walking distance. But there's not much nightlife. It's worth eating an evening meal at a lakeside cafe in good weather. Some good bars in the mediaeval quarter. Stalls in square sell delicious strawberries in season in
May.

Long walks by the lake and there are beaches for bathing. Also outdoor aquatic sports for more adventurous. Interesting art gallery and museum
While cathedral and surroundings are a must. Good cafes by the lake where you can get burgers pizzas salads at reasonable prices. Also try a boat trip to islands in lake. They weren't operating during my stay. Bus no 11 good one for getting to lake. Take it to terminus. Bus no 3 goes to and from airport.
The breakfast had it all, even Ginger shots & Skagen mix!
Really good value for the money in regards to the room size, comfy beds & towels - even robes & slippers. Soaps & shampoo by “Rituals” was also a bonus. Location is in the centre of the city (a bit noisy during the nights due to inconsiderate & bored car “cruisers” playing hard rock on full blast, but not the hotel’s fault nor responsibility) The room was very hot upon arrival but the staff had placed a floor fan in the room, excellent
This place has a unique ambience. There are several comfortable, attractive and expansive areas for guests to congregate if they wish.
The staff are kind, generous, accommodating and helpful
My room was spotlessly clean and of very comfortable proportions.
Finally, the hotel is centrally located with most attractions easily reached on foot.
I'd love to return to Västerås, and if I do, I'd try to stay here again.
This overnight stay was excellent value! The room had a lot of space along with the bathroom. There was a large refrigerator in the room also. Everything was very clean and worked well. There were excellent facilities for cooking your own food and for washing your clothes (new washing machines). Netflix for free was a nice extra!
I was in Vasteras on business and decided to give this hotel a try. While it was obviously a bit old, the room was very clean and the place was quiet. The breakfast was decent and overall a very passable place to stay for a week on business.
Hotel is located 5 minutes from a central station. We came later than allowed check in time, but still everything was smooth. Thanks for people working at the reception.
Breakfast was very good, really good.
Very friendly and gracious host who was very welcoming to his home. Offered us the experience we would have gotten with a hotel with the perks of living with a very interesting man!
Rich breakfast, sport everywhere around hotel. Not in center of city, but still close enough. Reception personal very kind, pretty girls smiling to me every time.
