Location! Rental equipment, ski lift and food - everything was within 2-minute walk. Very friendly staff. No breakfast but we found some fresh made cookies in the lobby- those cookies were better than a lot of “breakfast included” options we tried before, nice surprise, my son loved them.

The grounds were clean. Front desk staff super friendly and helpful. They answered questions as needed and provided service when requested. The lodge is conveniently located and within walking distance to everything. The red river is right behind the property with a little firepit along with some horseshoe courts in the lawn.
The Econo Lodge hotel is located, providing easy access to many local points of interest including the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Carson National Forest.

It was a very simple place and definitely great for a one night stay. Communication with the staff was remote, but very quick. We were able to check in early, which helped us immensely

Eric and Elizabeth made us eggs for breakfast which were delicious on our last day (and eggs for us to take back to our cabin when we arrived). They also spent time with us talking about all sorts of things which was delightful. It was wonderfully quiet (something in short supply where I live. The place is full of lilacs and next time we'll try the hot tub and sauna! I also appreciated the historical info about Huxley. :)

The best part of the experience is the manager is very responsive to any issues by text. It is a charming hostel, with a rustic vibe and clean if outdated fittings. The location is excellent if you want to ski Taos and not pay an exorbitant price. The town of Arroyo Seco is also cute with quite a number of places to eat given its small size. My stay was quite short, but I was curious about the garden and sunsets mentioned in the guest book and think this would be lovely to explore in warmer months.

Taos Ski Valley is unique……old properties with very limited snow skiing dining / bar staff! They need Over Seas Employees for the ski season badly! If you are into bare bones vacation experiences….you found your place.

Its a long drive in or out of here, but all lovely Alpine scenery. The alpine ski village lodge hotel is a great bargain when ski season is past, like Spring Summer. Gorgeous resort with a river ran through it I(really a cool stream).

Steep Great Runs!
Steep Great Runs! Great views, friendly vibe of people who know what they are doing on the mountain.
Would love to go back when all the runs/shops and food services are open. Taos is running on basics due to the latest COVID Rush. Still a fun mountain for people who already know how to ride/ski.

The hike to Williams Lake was a wonderful experience.
The hike to Williams Lake was a wonderful experience. My son and I actually swam in the lake, which is an 11,000 foot elevation. A bit chill, but sooooo worth it. Then the hike was just great, outstanding scenery and wildlife spotting, and a beer and The Bavarian at the culmination of the hike, made for an outstanding day and stay.

Snow was good this January!
Snow was good this January! Note that Taos is not the best place to go for beginning skiers. The greens ski more like blues, the blues like blacks and the blacks like double-blacks. Wife wished that they would groom a few black diamonds more often as these can be really fun trails. Great expert terrain is easily accessed when Kachina Peak lift is open.

This 2 bed/2 bath with central living was the perfect size for our family of 7 visiting in June to hike the area. Everyone absolutely loved the location tucked against the mountain that gave us views of wildlife and hit you with the smell of spruce when you opened the door. The 3rd floor property was easy to access, close to the downtown area, and a 7 minute drive up to Wheeler Peak Trail Head parking. The beds were comfy, everything was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals.
Neat place! 3 minute drive to Taos ski resort. awesome location. very clean and comfortable - we really appreciated the well-stocked kitchen. kind and responsive host. comfy bed! the building is the second one up the little hill, not the one close to the road. leave by 8a to get good parking at Taos, and don’t forget to make reservations to ski/snowboard on the Taos site if you’re on Ikon pass!
The property is situated at the base of the Taos Ski Valley. The views were spectacular and the sound of the flowing river was so peaceful. The rooms were spacious, bathrooms have a wonderful soaking tub and shower and a nice closet area.
I thought this property was nice. Cozy and comfortable. I enjoyed it since it was close to Taos Ski Valley. It had all the necessary kitchen equipment plus the bed was good.
