I cannot say enough about this lovely place! We were there to relax and it ended up being so much more than we could imagine. The spa is next level and the view-just amazing! They’ve thought of every little amenity, you want for nothing. It’s very close to the Zugspitze if you’re looking to visit. The included breakfast was incredible. The hosts were just so nice and so very welcoming. I really cannot recommend this place enough! Absolutely loved our stay.

Our host Christian was an absolute god-send! He was very patient with all of my questions in my slow German, and gave detailed instructions on the local bus schedule, what discounts the Zugpitze Gast-karte included, and where to find open restaurants in the greater Garmisch/Grainau area during the weekend. The continental breakfasts were refreshing, and although there was no Biergarten, there was a vending machine on location full of .5 L bottles of Spaten and Franziskaner (amongst other varieties) for only 2 Euros each. My wife and I were sad to leave, but Christian sent us off with a gift of two pretzels for the road in a small bag. We will definitely book here again!

The hotel is in a nice quiet location up the hill from Garmisch. The breakfast was plentiful with many choices. I particularly like having eggs cooked to order every morning. It's so much better than the scrambled eggs that have been sitting forever. A very nice touch were the name tags on the tables for each meal. You always knew where you're table was. The staff was great and the view from the balcony was wonderful.

Grainau is a short drive from more commercial Garmisch, but connected by a bus system that is free to anyone using the Zugpitze Guest-Card, (which your host/hotel should provide you). If you're hoping to stay a little farther from the center of the action, this is the perfect place, but it does have less options for dining over the weekend, so you may need to head back to Garmisch for meals.

My wife and I were travelling for past 30 years throughout the world, and House Florian is one of the best accommodations we had ever had.
The rooms are large, well equipped, spotlessly clean. I always pay attention to engineering details and quality of finishes, and House Florian is a fine example of German quality and precision.
The host, Carmen, I may be poor in my expressions – she is just amazing, to say the least…
Always smiley, kind, and helpful.
Highly recommended place for visitors looking for peace, and skying in and around Garmisch-Partenkirchen – most notably the Zugspitze.

We are very familiar with the area. It is an excellent location. Not far from the Eibsee and of course the Zugspitz. There are some excellent eating places in Grainau. We will come back again. We recommend a walk around the Baadersee which is nearby.

Grainau Location is beautiful, serene, worth visiting.
Grainau Location is beautiful, serene, worth visiting.
Restaurant in Am Bader see is fantastic, wide spread of delicacies, yammi breakfast.
I would recommend to include dinner and breakfast buffet for halal food eaters.
excellent breakfast, each day something new was added to a rich menu, it is not an ordinary habit, in my practice for the first time. everything was tasty and fresh. hotel has an excellent location, just a few steps from the bus nr 9840 stop, Grainau Postgasse. Bus timetable- one drive per hour. If you have booked a hotel in Grainau, the Eibsee bus is free of charge, but then you must pay for a ride in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ortsbus. Hotel is located on foot of the mountain, excellent view, especially from the room nr 20, which has a balcony.
I liked the mountain view from the balcony which was accessible from my room
- The room was cozy and the mattress was very comfy
- There was a good choice for breakfast, served at the table according to your order
- The staff was very friendly
- The location is perfect, just a short walk from the railway station (for local trains to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Austria) and there even is a bus stop around the corner for buses to Eibsee lake/Zugspitze cablecar and cog railway and Garmisch-Partenkirchen city
We had an amazing stay at the hotel. We stayed over after we climbed up the Zugspitze and I was surprised that the location was that perfect. It's one train stop (or 8 mins by car/taxi) away from the gondola that goes up and down the mountain, much closer than Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The hotel, the wellness area, and especially the lovely owner, chef, and staff were all exceptionally friendly and made our stay really personable.
Would have loved to stay longer, but we will be back again!
Everything was amazing. From the perfect location next to the mountains and a train station, to the delicious scrambled eggs and friendliness of the staff. The free ticket to the pool (and steam room, hot bath) next to the hotel.
Hourly train to the neighbourhoods. We did lots of hiking. Clean, safe, cozy village has a couple of restaurants, bakeries, souvenir shops. Comfy beds, everyday clean towels. Quiet. Room had a hair dryer.
I loved my stay at the property. The host Magdalene was so warm and welcoming, she really made my stay. I loved the garden and views of the mountains. my room and shared living-area had a cosy bavarian feel.
breakfast was nice with bread, jam, meats, cheese, yogurt and teas available. Its a 15 minute walk to Grainau village and the walk is really pretty.
Stayed at room 22. Although it's an old hotel and it has its own charm. The place is super clean and bed is comfy! The only downside is that wifi is not too strong in the rooms. Wifi mostly works on the lobby and the restaurant. The location is great - it is near the bus stop and also has a great balcony view! Reception is very nice and friendly.
Haus St Anton was a wonderful, quaint property to stay at while visiting the Zugspitze region. Grainau is such a pretty Bavarian village, and St Anton fits in well in the community. Lots of small touches inside (wood details, Bavarian country scene paintinged on walls and doors, antiques, etc.), and a fantastic Alpine view in the backyard!
Lovely and well equipped apartment. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Great balcony with a view of the Zugspitze.
Excellent location for exploring the area and going hiking.
Grainau is a particularly pretty place to stay.
Key collection was easy.
Good communications via email with the host before and during our stay.
The accomodations were wonderful; Carmen so gracious and helpful; and the view beyond description! Grainau is a wonderful small town, much less crowded and hectic than G-P. So many things are in walking distance of Haus Florian.
The hotel had every accommodation needed to have relaxing stay. I loved the pool and the ability to lounge outside enjoying the view of the mountain. I also enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen. The beds were also very comfortable.
The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed the dinner. Large portions, different menus every day. The rooms are clean. Convenient location. Beautiful view from the window. We were satisfied with our stay.
The location of the hotel is exceptional. Just 5 minutes from the Zugspitze-Gondel and Eibsee. The receptionist (probably the owner) was very friendly and helpful! Overall i can recommend this Bed&Breakfast.
For a large hotel it felt quite cosy. The rooms were very neat and clean. It was nicely decorated with a train themed public bar and a snug residents’ bar. Beautiful views, very good food and a lovely spa.
This place was great. Great breakfast, location central with good access to walking trails, nice view of Zugspitze from our balcony. Would definitely stay here again !
Location in nice and quiet Grainau and right next to a bus pickup. Apartment views and decor were both great. One of the best Zugspitze views you can find.
