A Feast for the Senses
A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.
The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.
Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.
For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.
Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

We loved Edinburgh - the public bus system is amazing into the city centre. There are so many places to see and explore - we used the City Hop On Hop Off Bus extensively with a 2 Day (48 hour) pass. The Royal Mile is a must of course - it is like a side-show there. Had drinks at The White Hart Inn which claims to be the oldest hotel in Edinburgh - the drinks were good there and there was a good clientele. Food was great - we ate at the cafe at the mill shop on the right just before you approach Edinburgh Castle (sorry can't remember the name!!) and the serving was so big neither of us could finish. So many interesting things to see and do - St. Giles Cathedral, St. Cuthbert's which are both associated with my Scottish Ancestors, The Real Mary King's Close (below the Royal Mile) was fascinating!!.

It's an easy city with great transport links by rail and air esp with the tram system being so easy.
Lots of hills so make sure you come with energy.
A lot to see and do but dies not feel like somewhere you need to rush round to do it all.
We did the free walking tour which was excellent value and gave a great overview of the old town.
Don't miss Calton Hill - a much easier view than doing Arthur's Seat - great early AM or last thing and is not as far away as it looks - about 15 min walk from the castle.
If you plan to visit the castle - which is great value for an attraction like this, pre book your tickets for your timed slot, makes it easier to plan your day and not be hanging around.
A visit to Chez Jules french bistro and a bit on an institution was one of our highlights. It was a special birthday celebration so we had a treat lunch at The Kitchin, which was one of the best meals we have ever had - lunch is great value for a place of this calibre too - we even met the man himself. Edinburgh will always be worth a return visit for us.

The view was the best I have ever had from an hotel room, Delicious hot full Scottish breakfast with plenty of toast, brown and white bread. The Manager was polite, obliging, and helpful. Cracked the occasional funny. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Highly recommended. If there was a downer it was the cost of taxis into Edinburgh approx £18,00 but then parking is virtually impossible. We were lucky to have arrived midway between the Rockville and City Centre to meet a friend and a car just vacated a spot as we pulled up
Great location in the city centre of Edinburgh, so we could walk everywhere. Big parking garage under the shopping center next door (the hotel is actually above the shopping center as well), which is very convenient when you go here by car. The concierge showed us the shortest and easiest way from the hotel to the car park by walking with us, which we thought was great! Comfortable beds and spacious room, overlooking the roof garden and Calton Hill.
Everything you need for a short stay while exploring Edinburgh. It's a small room but clean, comfortable, and warm, and that's all you need. The shower had good water pressure, which we always appreciate.
Friendly staff. Easy commute to city centre and the airport with bus stops just outside the hotel.
Breakfast is also passable.
The Yotel Edinburgh is perfectly located near Princes Street in the City Centre. It‘s very clean and modern, it has a hotel bar and nice personell. Everythings fine - i‘m definitely coming back!
Hotel is in a good location with parking facilities and easy access to Edinburgh City Centre. Breakfast good. Rooms bigger than most city centre hotels.
