It is very cultural. A lot better than the loud Kuta.
It is very cultural. A lot better than the loud Kuta. However there is a very strong takeover from the Visitors , especially Australia so you dont get to see much of the real Ubud. They have turned these places into their own resorts with their restaurants, branded stores etc. If you dont mind having that then you will have a blast.

Ubud is one of my favorite parts of the Bali due its rich cultural heritage and less Western influence compared to Denpasar. Nature is stunning in Ubud area and you feel like in tropical rainforest after showers.

Ubud was so busy and took a little to get use to the busy streets. But definitely enjoyable and so many things to do up that way.
We walked most days but got a grab car to get to the monkey forest and had a day driver who organised quad biking, took us to one of the falls, one of the swings, jewellery making class, an art gallery and we learned how batik poring was made.

I personally loved Ubud more than Seminyak.
I personally loved Ubud more than Seminyak. Everyone said spend more time in Seminyak but it depends on what type of person you are.
We loved Ubud as we are more adventurous so we did the Mt Batur sunrise hike, ATV riding and water rafting, floating breakfast at Cretya Ubud (I HIGHLY recommend this option as you get access before everyone and the whole breakfast set up in massive and delicious).
It was slightly harder getting around Ubud then Seminyak but still worth it.

Quieter than Seminyak or Uluwatu, and more interesting, less partying, more art. However still a densely populated Asian City. We used the rideshare apps, using cars or motor scooters. The Grab App is allowed in Ubud, just the Taxis don’t like it,

Beautiful grounds the gardens are immaculate, we stayed in a suite with a private pool which was lovely. The communal pool is stunning & very quiet .
Breakfast is made to order and was excellent everyday & all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We used the hotels free a shuttle into Ubud Centre a few times ( which is about 5-10 mins by car ) and we also got a taxi on a few occasions and the prices were cheap. Would definitely stay again -loved it .
A heartfelt recommendation from us! We saw a lot of hotels on our Asien tour last several months and the Ubad Retreat is one of the best hotels in which we felt completely comfortable! Everything was good and was made perfect with the warmth of the staff and the owner! We also extend our standing here. If we wouldn’t interested to see more in Bali we would stay here the whole month! Thank you ubad retreat team! Hope to see you once again!
Our stay in Tejaprana Bisma was amazing! We had beautiful and comfortable room with private pool, very stylish and there was everything you might ever need on the vacation. Breakfast was very tasty and with various selection, personnel were extremely friendly and polite. They made our stay unforgettable! Restaurant in the hotel was also amazing. This was an unforgettable experience! Highly recommended to everyone!
The Villa itself is beautiful and very clean with private pool all to ourself. Kadek took care what we need promptly. We send our laundry everyday and got it back sameday cleaned and pressed and its cheap too. Wayan, her brother being a tour guide can also give good advice. We're happy with their friendly and bubbly attitude.
