Hotel Villa Giuseppina, hotel in Scala

Hotel La Margherita - Villa Giuseppina is located in the hills above the Amalfi Coast. It offers air-conditioned rooms with balconies or terraces and panoramic views, private bathroom and TV.

We had room 12 on the 3rd floor and it was the best view ever overlooking Ravello and also the mountins and partly the see. The hotel owner is a wonderfull women whose spirit is unbreakable and she was keeping all guests also at good spitit because we hade very bad weather for the biggining of May. The hotel is very clean and the cleaning stuff and especially receptionist and the best soya capuccino maker on the world - grazie bellas!!! To have a parking slot at this area is a very big bonus and it is included.

Scala is lovely and Ravello walkable If you are fit.

Scala is lovely and Ravello walkable If you are fit. The bus service to Amalfi and Ravello could be a little erratic. Having a car is more of a hinderance than a help. Restaurants and cafes are available. San Lorenzo Cathedral is worth a visit. They still use mules to deliver goods etc in the village. A very quaint town

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village.

There is only 1 restaurant and a pizzaria in the village. The shops are very basic but you should be able to get most things if you self-cater. It is easy to get to Ravello by bus (tickets must be purchased in advance from the "card shop"). Ideally you need your own transport as the terrain is very hilly. It is expensive to get to and from the airport by taxi.

Great little town, quite and off the busy Amalfi coast towns with a nice view. Having a car really helped. There was a great restaurant within a 20 minute walk of our B&B. You need to be in good shape to walk around, as very hilly.

Scala is quiet, authentic and charming, with beautiful views of Ravello and the Amalfi coast everywhere you go. There are a few decent café and restaurant options, mostly in the town center. This is a steep mountain village so having a car to go up and down the switchback slopes is highly recommended. Finding parking in the small town center was never an issue, not even in the middle of July.

Scala is a small, unspoilt town with several bars and restaurants on the main road. Further restaurants are dotted through the town, Zio Peppe was a great find up in the hills and Il Pinguino serve great food. Da Pietro snack bar in the town square has great views across the gorge and serves the best Aperol spritz. If you want to explore further there is a great picnic area at Parco Paradiso, hidden high up in the hills, where you can bring your own food to cook on wood burning grills and pizza ovens with nothing but the sound of nature. There is a regular bus service to Ravello and Amalfi and also a walking route down to Amalfi. Parking spaces marked with blue are pay-parking.

    Higher up the hill.

Higher up the hill. Little village with view at Ravello and the Amalfi Coast, enjoy living between the locals. Just at walking distance you find Restaurants serve local dishes. We eat at Ristorante Il Pinguino, delicious dishes and pizza. In the morning we took the dog for a walk and met the donkeys in the narrow alleys op hill where you find a beautiful view over the coastline.

The only challenge I can see is one of transportation because it is quite a ways up in scala, but that is what makes it beautiful and restful in the wonderful place to be. We had rented a car, so we could get around even in the tight quarters of Amalfi! Look It was great to be out away from the busyness that we found in Revelo and Amalfi. The staff at Revelo view were beyond expectation, courteous, kind, thoughtful, friendly, helpful just wonderful people. Food was great and the view well so it’s called Rivella view.

beautiful, quaint hotel. not too far a walk from Scala main square. nice views down to Ravello and panoramic view of the coast. The staff cannot do enough to ensure you have a great time, pre arrival transfer help and on arrival they provided so much info on local bus timetable, places to eat, what to do.etc. the local bus route brings you to Amalfi town via Ravello so you can easily get about without a car. Bus tickets are only available in the main square so advisable to buy a few to use if frequent trips required.

The hotel is very cozy, has amazing view, very clean, offers tasty homemade breakfast, very polite stuff. I will definitely reccomend it to my friends and come here again in case of traveling in Amalfi Coast. I think it's the best choice to stay here: not crowded, but very close to every attraction. Just one small thing, that can make the room more comfortable: there is not place where to put shampoo or soap in the shower cabin:) But we liked everything! I'm very happy that we stayed there and I hope to come again!

Really enjoyed staying in this apartment, it had a huge terrace with gorgeous views. Carla was really helpful and put us in touch with a company to hire a 125cc bike and also helped us make dinner reservations. The apartment had everything you need and there was even a vending machine for out of hours. The pools looked stunning too. Scala and Ravello are beautiful and would highly recommend compared to the chaos of Amalfi centre, but walking down to Amalfi and back was a great experience (LOTS of stairs!)

I loved everything about my stay. The property was situated among the iconic terraced gardens of the Amalfi Coast, offered an amazing view of the sea and of Ravello, included a relaxing outdoor area, and was a short walk to the center of Scala. The place felt like home- it had everything that I needed, and the hosts went out of their way to make me and my dogs feel comfortable and welcome. They helped me navigate the Amalfi Coast and the things it has to offer. They truly made the stay a special one.

The lady running the accommodation was very helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself was situated in a lovely quaint area within walking distance of nice restaurants and a popular wedding venue in Ravello. The room had a large balcony with an exceptional view of the hills and sea, while avoiding the touristy chaos of Amalfi. While I normally pick a more modern style of accommodation, the wooden beams and traditional bathroom suited the general feel of the area and created an authentic ambience.

The most amazing staff we have ever had at any hotel/home we have stayed in. Lidia took care of our every need, every single day, and the pool and restaurant staff were polite, super funny and incredibly service minded. The whole thing felt like staying with the most accommodating family and I recommend it dearly and sincerely to anyone who wants to stay with the nicest people in the Amalfi coast, and not feel like you are being treated like any other tourists. 10/10 stars!!!

The staff were very welcoming and knowledgable. They helped us understand the bus schedule and provided tips for booking ferries to nearby locations. The views from our balcony and the pool/dining area were truly unbeatable. Scala is a lovely town and felt like a private retreat. The hotel was quiet, the breakfast selection was good, and our balcony was massive. The bus station is also a short walk (less than 10 minutes) from the hotel.

This hotel has a wonderful location in Scala, a charming, little city. We had everything what we needed there, a wonderful view from our balcony and a typical very good breakfast with an amazing view too. The staff is very nice, but very outstanding is Carla. She is just the best. She gives you the best tips for the authentic side of the Amalfi coast and is so wonderful heartwarming. Thanks again for everything. We'd love to come back.
