The breakfast buffet provided (which is not free, just for clarity) was plenty good, and even though the breakfast buffet at the hotel itself was closed for two of the three days of my stay, they allowed me to use my breakfast tickets at the next door hotel, which I guess has the same owner. The location was excellent, right next Fukuyama station and thus downtown Fukuyama. Having the Fukuyama Castle park a block away was a nice plus. The hotel and my room were clean; nothing to complain about regarding cleanliness.
This is a "love hotel", and as such, rents either by the hour or for an overnight stay. Nevertheless, the hotel also functions as a hotel and anyone can stay. The hotel was in very good condition, the room clean and spacious, and on weekdays a simple breakfast is included and there is a simple drink bar on the 1st floor. The price was very competitive with business hotels closer to the Fukuyama station, and the room is roughly twice the business hotel size and much better appointed.
We spent a short time here, mainly as a place to sleep before tackling the Shimanmi Kaido. This hotel is centrally located, just a very short walk to Fukuyama Station. The room seemed recently renovated and was comfortable – partnered with the hotel next door, which is where you do the check-in procedure. While we didn't spend much time in Fukuyama, the castle and area around the station was very pleasant. It was nice to have access to the onsen at the hotel next door.
Very convenient if you're going to see Fukuyama Castle or want to be close to the station to go via bus to Tomonoura for example. There is a mall nearby, a traditional 50s, 60s type shopping quarter too, and Fukuyama Station itself has a lot of stores and restaurants, so you can get anything you need. There is also a full grocery store on the B1 floor a couple of steps from the hotel, and an Animate as well for anyone interested in Japanese manga and gamer culture.
Homey, clean and cosy. The host was friendly and customer-oriented. Free coffee, green tea (on disposable cups, not shared mugs!), and chocolate sweets up for grabs. This would be my go-to place when I visit Fukuyama again. Within a walking distance from Matsunaga Station (15-20 minutes) and the central pharmacy with a wide range of food and beverages and other products at affordable prices!
Very near Fukuyama Station so great for daytrips to nearby places like Hiroshima, Okayama, Onomichi, etc. Staff were friendly and welcoming (even though my Japanese is limited, we managed to communicate okay). Loved the room with its big windows and the privacy of the bunks.
The hotel was a great value for money deal. It was much needed relax for us on the way from one town to another. The whirlpool as well as everything else in the room was neat and tidy, the staff was much helpful and polite. Would definitely recommend.
I was very surprised how nice the room was. The bathroom and shower were huge by comparison to other hotels. It has an amazing view of the castle out some of the rooms. It is also very close to the train station.
I have stayed several times and like the location — wonderful view of the castle, on the Shinkansen line, easy access to Onomichi, close to the station, food and shopping at station.
The view from the room was phenomenal. We used the private onsen and again the view was breathtaking. The staff at the hotel were fantastic and always very helpful.
The location is awesome, and there's a 7/11 on the first floor of the building. It's also really close to the big night life area of Fukuyama, so big plus.
