The location was great. Right on the beach and a nice little boardwalk. A park up the street for kids to play at as well. The kids club was great for the kids as well. Staff was amazing and super helpful

We loved Calheta Beach for its soft sand and calm waters, thanks to the sheltered cove. While not a natural beach, it offers a relaxing atmosphere. The area around the harbor boasts several excellent restaurants, and the beach itself has a convenient beach club for drinks and snacks. Plus, the affordable beach chairs for just 2 euros were a nice bonus.

Calheta is a nice village and had a big supermarket as well as smaller shops and a white sand beach. If you enjoy hiking, you will have to travel a bit because most of the hikes are not located in this part of the island. I would personally stay somewhere a bit more centered next time. Although this town also had a certain charm because part of the village is still rather old, it also has a main road next to the beach with some restaurants, a bigger supermarket, pharmacy, ... I enjoy staying in a neighborhood which is a little more vibrant and went on a lot of hikes, so that's why I would choose a different town to stay the next time I visit Madeira.

A small town with amazing views over the Atlantic and a public sandy beach. There is a museum of contemporary art and a sugar refinery, but we did not visit them. A very short walk on the waterfront. Worth visiting the Jardim do Mar, a small village with pedestrian narrow streets. We also enjoyed the dolphin watching trip. It takes about 40 minutes by car from Calheta to Funchal.

Probably the nicest place of Madeira, especially for those who love sunbathing, sandy beaches and relaxation. Also if You would like to travel to North of Madeira, it is much closer to do it from Calheta region comparing to Funchal.

Lovely small town close to the see, all accomodation are close but take care ... if you don't like to climb a slope, it will be hard because all the streets are uphill !!!
The sun is always present but not too hot at this moment so it was wonderfull.

The area is quite widespread from the marina and sand beach up into the mountains. Marina and beach area lovely and not inundated by 'cruisers'.
Some good local cafes and bars inland. Very steep in places. Be careful if walking if recently wet! Good connections by bus to Funchal, Porto Moniz (well worth a visit with its rock pool swimming), and other smaller seaside villages. A good base for a walking holiday especially if you have a car though some levada walks can be got to by bus. Has an interesting looking modern art museum sadly closed for maintenance on my visit.
Unfortunately our flight was delayed which meant no one was able to meet us at the apartment. Elvio was at the airport but left instruction how to enter the Apartment, The up side was that the apartment surpassed expectations. Great place to relax and unwind, peaceful with great outside space . Clean modern close to essential amenities. A 5 minute drive to Calheta beach, supermarket and restaurants in the marina. 10 minute drive to Madalena, Jardim and paul do mar.
Located in quiet place in Prezeres. Very nice small house (honestly I'm interested what it was before), fully equipped with inside fireplace and outdoor terrace with grill. Great location for western part of Madeira trips.
10km to Paul da Serra plain, 10km to Calheta (beach, restaurants, well-equipped shopping incl. fresh fishes) via main express route. Locally three pubs/restaurants in 200 meters. Local shop and petrol station within 1 km.
Really enjoyed our stay. The pod is really comfortable, the outdoor space is lovely. Staff friendly, check in and out was easy. Amazing views from every aspect! The small honesty shop was great, and enjoyed receiving fresh bread each morning of our stay. Recommend hiring a car to get around as the roads to the pod are steep I wouldn't want to walk them. Calheta is a really lovely part of Madeira to visit and will be returning in the future.
The best thing about the place is the hosts, they are super accommodating and very flexible. She provided ice cubes and had cold water at the ready for us, along with other goodies. Very nice interiors with a luxurious spacious bath. This was by far out favorite place to stay in on the island (out of the four total). When I come back in the future, this will be my first choice to look at booking!! Loved it!!!!
The hotel is surrounded by wonderful landscapes and its location couldn't be more peaceful.
The room was really spacious and cozy and the kitchenette was definitely a plus for some meals during our stay.
The staff was also very kind and helpful, making Jardim Atlântico the perfect place to escape from the busy city lifestyle and relax while absorving the calm of Madeira's natural wonders.
Beautiful location and nice view. The cottages are large and well equipped. The only downside during our stay was a large construction word next to our house and was very noisy part of time. The hotel is of course not to blame but we would like to be informed before arrival so we could plan not to hang out at the pool before 6PM. We would go again. Great place
- great location. Calheta is awesome and the hotel was right next to the beach
- everyone was really nice and helpful
- wifi was good
- plenty of great restaurants nearby
- supermarket across the street which was very convenient
- room with a sea view
- good size, renovated rooms
- sanitizer was always there, the staff observed all covid rules
Amazing views from villa. Only 15 min walk to Calheta beach and 20 min walk to shop and marina with nice restaurants. Easiness check-in check-out. Ourmadeira also organised car for us with much better prices that you can get from usual suspects car rentals like Avis, Herz or Sixt and with full insurance. Whatever you need in kintchen!
Polite and friendly staff, gorgeous room, beautiful views, private patio, large comfy bed, amazing breakfast, beautiful terraces with lounge chairs and snack menu, chef's dinner at hotel's own restaurant. Caring in every respect and attention to detail. Emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendliness.
I had a wonderful stay at this property. The staff were amazing, the room was very clean and had great views and the breakfast was very good as well. The one negative for me was that there is not wifi available in the guest rooms, you must go to the lobby to access wifi. Overall a great hotel.
Acomodation is near the sea (2 min), the playgroud is 2 min as well. The house is nice, clean and you can find everything you can need. Francisco was on whatsapp. He is really kind. In Calheta was almost every day sunny. And the shop is just 5 min by walk. You can just enjoy Madeira:)
Nelia our host was wonderful. Location was good for easy walk to grocery and pharmacy and a bit of a longer but safe and nice walk to beach. Also an easy walk to a couple of restaurants for a café and the local bakery was also close. The apartment is spacious and clean.
The apartment was very nice and well equipped. Everything was really clean. The host is the most kind and hospitable person ever. We really enjoyed the place and, if ever again on Madeira, we will definitely stay in Amoreira House.
The hotel had a fabulous location, perched on the side of a steep hill overlooking the valleys around Calheta a d the sea. The rooms were very clean and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. The sun terrace was really impressive.
This house is in perfect location for Calheta beach. Sometimes we didn't even put on shoes to go for a swim! And the views are amazing. Lovely to eat outside, under the shade of the canopy, and look at the mountains and sea.
Very nice all inclusive hotel for relaxing vacations. The food was good and the staff were always extremely helpful and kind. It was very child and family friendly, which was great for us.
30 minute walk down hill to the beach.
€12.97 for a taxi back from the beach.
The taxi service in Calheta is poor and buses are non existent so it would be better to have a car.
Stylish, modern, friendly, relaxing and very clean. Very pleasant stay, would book again. By a rented car it is an easy drive from/to Funchal and everywhere in Madeira.
One of more perfect hotels on the island. Not too much people in small city. They even have private beach, only for guests. Personell is excellent and very helpful.
