Bangkok never sleeps, or so you might think as you fly into Suvarnabhumi International Airport. From luxurious mega malls like MBK and Siam Discovery in Siam Square to the famous Khao San Road in the Banglamphu district, this hard working city is packed with commerce, fiery food and soothing temples.
Catch a boat up river on the Chao Phraya Express or discover different neighbourhoods on the blissfully air-conditioned BTS Skytrain. A taxi or exhilarating tuk-tuk ride is never far away from the big attractions, which include Chinatown, Jim Thompson House and the floating markets at Damnoen Saduak.
To step out of the frenetic energy of street food stalls, amulet markets and the sizzling temperatures, discover an oasis of calm in one of the many Buddhist temples. Be awed by the majesty of the Grand Palace and marvel at the world’s longest reclining Buddha at Wat Pho. While you’re there why not relax even more with a traditional Thai massage?
From the sky-scraping luxury hotels with world famous rooftop bars to a cheap hostel bed in the centre of town, Booking.com will help you explore all Bangkok has to offer.
I stayed in three different areas of Bangkok. I stayed in the old town with all of the beautiful sites, the grand Palace and numerous temples. It was absolutely breathtaking. This part of the town had a very real small town kind of feel despite being in a giant city.
My second stay was in the Silom area. I love the contrast. It was very much city and sleek. They were still wonderful little markets and of course people set up all along the street selling food, etc. while in this area, I did a lot of rooftop bars. They were magnificent the views unbelievable.
I am still in Bangkok at my third area. It is very much big city here. There are things to do everywhere you turn.

This is an amazing city that should not be missed.
This is an amazing city that should not be missed. It’s full of some of the most wonderful people, food and nightlife you will ever find. There are so many sites to see you will never complete them in one trip, or even 10 trips. And it’s all reasonable priced. The sky bars are a must see as are the temples.

Our whole family enjoyed the trip.
Our whole family enjoyed the trip. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful city. We visited many temples all around the city. It was so easy to navigate all through out the city, our children were not complaining about using metro, water taxis, walking, or riding in a tuk tuk. We always felt safe, and that people are very kind. Food was absolutely delicious! We loved eating and trying everything!!! We took a trip to Erawan National Park, Ayutthaya city, and elephant sanctuary. We made such beautiful memories in this beautiful town and country, and are hoping to come back and see even more one day...

The location is good for exploring Bangkok, walking distance from Khao San Road but far enough away that it's not busy. The staff are very friendly (they don't speak much English but communication wasn't an issue). Hotel offers several services including laundry, airport shuttle and cafe. Felt safe and secure with key card activated door to the building and was good for price we paid. Rooms are all upstairs with no lift, not an issue for us but some might want to be aware of this.
Phenominal ambiance and entertainment with beautifully decorated rooms to match. Staff super helpful and efficient and made everything a pleause . Design and decor fantastic . Khun Yosh and his counterpart at the front dest were so kind . We will most definately visit again and am rather sad that we never swapped the high priced hotels on Sukumwit for Shanghai Mansion years ago . This is our new go to place in Bangkok !
Luxery hotel/rooms/bathroom. Exceptional breakfast (European & Asian).
Nice swimming pools and great fitness area. Of course you pay more than average for this hotel if you compare with other places in Thailand.
Perfect location if you come from airport Suvarnabhumi. The ARL stops in front of the hotel. No need to take the long taxi ride through the traffic jams of Bangkok!
Everything was great from A to Z. However, the Assistant Front Office Manager, Ms. Rungaroon (Dew) truly exceeded our expectations and made our stay at Siam Kenpinski Hotel Bangkok [SHA Extra Plus Certified] really fabulous from service, professionalism and kindness. Thank you Siam Kempinski, thank you Ms. Dew.
You are all amazing.
Very convenient location for the train from the airport and to connect to the Bangkok transport system. But there are many small hotels in the immediate area - so plenty of competition.
