The room was clean. The location is good, but no microwave and breakfast. I think it would be better to give waffles or bread with the coffee.

Location was great, so many places to walk to dinner near the hotel. It was near the train station, too. Comfortable beds and very attentive staff. The bar across the parking lot was a fun little place to get a beverage.

If you like dinosaurs, this is a great destination.
If you like dinosaurs, this is a great destination. There is a dinosaur museum in the town of Fruita that offers hands on opportunities to learn how fossils are collected. There are many trails and paleological sites nearby. Palisade is not far away if you are in the mood for peaches. Last but not least is access to the Colorado river and Colorado national monument. There is a state park nearby that offers camping and river access.

I really enjoyed staying at the Balanced Rock Inn.
I really enjoyed staying at the Balanced Rock Inn. The staff was super friendly and although there wasn't toilet paper in the bathroom when I arrived it was delivered immediately after request as well as an extra flat sheet that I requested for my personal needs.
The staff recommended this really great place to eat with free delivery right across the street. The food was fabulous, I had the Reuben with fries and a drink, and the price was spot on.
If I need to stop in Fruita again I definitely will and I will definitely stay at the Balanced Rock. Overall I had a great experience.

We love traveling to Fruita!
We love traveling to Fruita! Everything in town is close and easy to access. There is a walking and biking path within walking distance that leads to Loma in one direction and Palisade in the other. The Colorado National Monument, which is full of trails, is a short distance away. The pizza and beer is always amazing!

It was a clean room. Pillows were hard and small.
It was a clean room. Pillows were hard and small. They should replace the pillows.
Did not like the bath room sink being in our room area like it was. No privacy for the user. Other hotels have the sink in the bathroom.
We ate at the tapitio restaurant next door. A little pricey, but good food.
Staff was friendly and helpful.

Our kids (10/9) are HUGE dinosaur fans— we participated in the Dinosaur Journey dig in mid June and had a blast. Of course, Colorado National Monument is about a mile out and was totally worth the time.

I've been mountain biking in Fruita for the last 25 years...
I've been mountain biking in Fruita for the last 25 years and the riding is fantastic! Besides mountain biking, Colorado National Monument is a heartbeat from downtown Fruita and it offers spectacular scenery, road biking and hiking. Grand Junction is nearby for even more mountain biking and hiking options as well as good restaurants and breweries. Don't miss out on the Hot Tomato for pizza; the Copper Club brewery for awesome beer and a nice open courtyard to soak up some rays and meet new people. Also, the Dragon Treasure Chinese restaurant has good food, a friendly staff and quick service.
Balanced Rock Inn is well maintained. We loved being close to Colorado National Monument (15 minutes) and downtown Fruita (5 minutes). The room is simple/basic but perfect for a place to crash at night after adventuring all day. The bed was super comfy, TV had tons of channels and fridge worked well (lots of mini-fridges at hotels don’t cool food evenly and can ruin produce but not this one). The hotel owner, who lives on the property, is kind, helpful and communicative. We’d definitely stay here again.
The house was well appointed. It was very spacious and comfortable. Getting in couldn't have been easier. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The garage was very spacious and easy to store bikes. The backyard space was nice. It was very easy to get to downtown Fruita, you could pretty easily bike there if you wanted to.
Newly (?) remodeled, the room was very clean and appealing. I liked the hard floors (vs carpet), because they just make sense in a town like Fruita where you should be hiking / biking on dirt all day. Ample parking. Right across the street from a little park - perfect for those with dogs. Couldn't hear neighbors at all.
Outstanding accomodations, answered promptly, went super smooth.
The house is well appointed, very spacious, great matters, huge sofa, big kitchen.
Many spectacular hikes are within 10 minute drive. Fruita town center (tiny as it is) is about a 5 minute drive.
Great motel, amazing value for money in Fruita. The owners really do their best to make it feel like a small cozy hotel. There is nice outdoor seating, they are very bike friendly, breakfast was a nice bonus. The owners were on the venue and very friendly.
Really clean and comfortable room! The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have amenities like a fridge in the room. The hotel isn't too far from the main strip in town and there are tons of food options within a minute drive from the hotel.
I really liked the hard wood floors/laminate flooring. Especially because they are a pet friendly hotel. The breakfast room was great. There were all kinds of items to choose from that you could easily prepare yourself.
I liked the online check in process. The hotel is renovated and the rooms have a cool style and there was room for our mountain bikes. It was also close to town and convenient.
Your hotels have certainly been upgraded…we quit Comfort Inns because they had gone downhill…very nice now, good quality bedding for sure….most places had a good breakfast!!
The location was convenient to gas stations and the freeway. But, that's about all to like about this hotel. Oh, I guess i liked leaving in the morning too.
