Location is great! Central to freeways and a short drive to all things downtown. Everything was about a 10 min drive. Room was comfortable and presentable. You can tell the rooms are a bit aged, but they are comfortable nonetheless. Cookies are a nice welcoming touch.

Booking.com messed up a simple change to my reservation, through no fault of Hilton/Hamptom. So I was in a pickle. But… ERIN, the manager, and Jacob and Ray at the desk ALL came to my rescue. ERIN managed to untangle the Booking.com mess, and I ended up with a lovely room that was perfect for me and my friend. AND without any hard sell, she pointed out the advantage of being an Honors member. I'm now a happy member and will book directly from now on.

From my experience, its gorgeous scenery BUT the transportation is antiquated, resulting in higher travel expenses because I had to Uber everywhere.... Rent a car or have alternative transportation set up if you do decide to visit SLO.
Theres only two buses out there that run once an hour.
And one bus on the weekends.

Absolutely beautiful area.
Absolutely beautiful area. Very charming downtown with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Beaches a short drive away. Highly recommend SLO Provisions for breakfast. El Esquina for a delicious meal. Farmers Market on Thursday nights give a wonderful sense of local products, foods and services. Very easy to walk around downtown. Morro Bay is an easy 20 min away. A beautiful drive. Morro Bay is a charming beach filled with local surfers, people walking their dogs or just hanging out to soak in the waves and surrounding beauty.

Close to downtown, shopping and restaurants to include the famous Madonna Inn. We were there to visit our student at CalPoly. Great amenities for our family. Always nice to have extra space in our room with the living room/dining area.

Very pleasant town with access to beautiful hikes.
Very pleasant town with access to beautiful hikes. Easy to get around. I loved how unique all the different buildings and houses were. Food was only decent, but not terrible. Good breweries, too! Very walkable. The highlight was going to the hot spring resort for their hour-use tubs.

Beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful place to visit. University town with a lovely walkable downtown. Lots of restaurants. Many people biking. Close to Pismo and Avila Beach, Morro Bay (and Rock) and the gorgeous central coast.Always love coming to SLO but it can be very pricey. This was a quick family visit so didn’t eat out much. Always find time for a latte at Scout coffee. If you are on a budget, check out hotel prices in advance prior to choosing dates. Inexpensive places jump to over $200 per night during certain weekends.

We went for an early morning run up the convenient bike path into SLO. We had a great tour of the city on foot and visited the El Camino Real sites and the Mission. We ran back through the hills and had a great view of the surrounding areas. Worth returning to visit. High up on the historic trail.

We were on our way from San Francisco to Los Angeles and so we picked to stay at San Luis Obispo since it was midway through the journey. Sunbeam was the best-rated, value hotel that I could find. We liked that we were given a ground-floor room and we could park our car directly in front of it which made baggage handling way easier. The owner was very helpful in giving us recommendations, especially for dinner. We got to eat at the Hawaiian barbeque joint that he recommended.
I loved how clean this place was. Our room was spotless and all of our toiletries and towels were super clean. Plus excellent location right off the freeway. A quick drive away from Pismo Beach and in walking distance of downtown San Luis Obispo. We had excellent food on this trip, even got pizza delivered to our room one night. We loved being able to walk around downtown SLO and come back to a room that wasn't right in the center of the foot traffic.
I like that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the pool area was lit up so beautifully, the jacuzzi was amazing! The beds were very clean and comfortable. For the money we paid, I think it was so worth it. Didn’t feel like a cheap / dirty hotel. The bed sheets and blankets felt good quality.
Also, we were a 6 minute drive from San Luis Obispo, and only a 15 minute drive from Pismo beach.
Our family travelled in USA for 3 weeks and stayed in about 10 hotels. Quality Suites Downtown SLO is the best. The decoration style in the hall is unique and beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff (front desk, bar, kitchen etc.). The room is comfortable and spacious. The happy hour (free drinks) and the BBQ every night is very impressive. The breakfast is high-quality and well-prepared.
Cleanliness and friendly staff.
Nice welcome by Cassandra, clearly informing us about the hotel rules and welcoming us with a nice glass of local rose wine.
After we checked out, One person in our family left the computer cables and phone cables at the hotel, and they kindly called us after we checked out to arrange the best way to ship our stuff.
The bistro is cute, with a nice bar.
The room was much larger than we thought it would be as many of the hotels in San Luis Obispo are small. Breakfast was self serve, simple and easy. The rooms and decor seemed like they were recently updated and were very clean. Plenty of parking, very friendly front desk staff. Our room, (2 queen beds) also had a balcony with table and chairs.
Love the location of this hotel, close to Cap Poly, hiking trails, and walkable to downtown restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable, with double sinks in the bathroom a nice bonus. Breakfast was tasty and the cookies in the afternoon are a nice way to end the day. We'll definitely be back.
What a fabulous hotel!! From being greeted by friendly staff to opening the door to a gorgeous room and bathroom. The decor was beautiful and the room was spacious for 3 people. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The breakfast scones and coffee were an added treat.
Lobby was small and messy.
Parking was too small to maneuver vehicle to back out. No elevator. Interior of room was basically clean but old and outdated. Best thing was location to downtown and freeway access.
The hotel is very well located close to restaurants and shops. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The staff is friendly. The included breakfast was delicious and varied every morning.
This is the only hostel in San Luis Obispo so there any other choices in the price range. It is only 2 minute walk from the Amtrak station. It is also a very short walk from downtown.
Good location, nice and comfortable hotel, nice breakfast but quite expensive.
Swimmingpool was nice!
Nice winetasting, cider and coffee/tea at the reception.
