“Our stay at B&B Deend was so lovely! Our wonderful hosts, Nelleke and Jan Berend were incredibly kind and welcoming. They live in a quirky and charmingly converted 1930's bakery, complete with the old shop (now the recption) and enormous, wood heated oven! We stayed in the more modern annex, which had everything we needed: a complete kitchen, comfortable living room and cosy bedroom and bathroom upstairs under the eves. When it rained we warmed up by the wood-burning stove in the living room and played boardgames that we found in the cupboard. It was especially lovely having breakfast on freshly baked bread and homemade jam provided by our hosts in the morning sunshine. We drank our coffees overlooking our private and secluded flower filled terrace, listening to the birds. Nelleke grows all her own vegetables and we were given a tour of her garden, where we were allowed to pick raspberries to snack on. We had fun exploring the local area by bike and walking through beautiful woodlands and quiet paths. It's not far from the Pieter Pad so we will definitely come back soon, perhaps on foot!”
