“This place is awesome! Its a spanish designed accommodation that is very neat and clean. The room that we got is a big one with 2 wooden double beds and a queen size bed. All in white which gives a hispanic vibe. Outside our room is the kitchen and dining area complete with all you need for cooking. There is also a big flat screen tv for your entertainment. There is also a pool outside. The restroom is also nice beacuae it has a hot & cold shower. The caretaker, John is very kind and accommodating. We wish we had more days to stay in this place. 😊”

It's kind of funny to think though that I am a Filipino, living in the Philippines and touring in the Philippines, and yet my host was a Spanish, a foreigner, who accommodated us within our own country. IT was not a problem though. :) Diego and his girlfriend are good hosts. Will definitely recommend the place for those couple who are not after really of a grandiose place to stay, but a place near the beach and yet affordable in price.”

“I wouldn’t rate staying in the JFH ’a nightmare’, but very close. The facility is located in a backstreet to the main road, so location is ok. However, to rent a motorbike in order to get somewhere is crucial. The noise from construction right next door, roosters, barking dogs, motorbikes, the AC and the weekend clubbing next door is just unbearable. To use earplugs was a joke. It was impossible to any kind of sleep at night. There was mosquito net, but it only helped at night. Daytime the house is full of bugs and creeps.”

Behind the sea facing lounge cottage is a tree house like cottage with 2 dorm rooms on the too and spacious multi showers and toilets on the bottom. The landscaping has left intact most of the trees so it's a beautiful spot. The beds are private cocoons with curtain, power outlet and private lockers. Quiet dorms with good clientele and daily room and bathroom cleaning. If you make the effort to be friendly with the staff, you will see genuine Filipino hospitality that comes naturally to this country. Get a scooter or semi automatic motorcycle for 350 pesos a day and drive around the island. The town center and nightlife are 6 minutes to the left on the main road on your wheels. The famous Cloud 9 surfing is 7 minutes the other way. There's a party every single night of the week at one of the several bars and open air clubs in town. Jimi himself is a DJ at Octopus and Gayle is also an up and coming spinner. To get here from the airport you get one of the many vans at the airport for 300 pesos per person. To return, the hotel will call you a van for the same price. This is a home for Jimi and Gayle as they live in a 3rd cottage with their two small children and a menagerie of rescued dogs and kittens. You'll feel at home and will meet many fellow travelers ... Filipinos and foreigners alike. If you're not an introvert, you'll have a blast with the staff and the guests.
