Situated just 200 metres from Sagrera Metro Station in Sant Andreu, the modern Hotel Acta Laumon is 25 minutes from the centre of Barcelona by metro. Stayed at the hotel mid February on the small double room. The room is relatively small, as mentioned on the description, however, fully functional for 2 people - it is even equipped with a desk, which can be used for work. The location is perfect, a 4 minute walk from the closest metro station - you need to exit from the "correct" exit, which is the closer to the hotel. Note, also, that the metro station is connected to two different lines, offering more choices without many transits. On 150m, you may find a large super market with everything you may need and on the same distance there is a nice cafe to get a coffee. The neighbourhood is safe, you don't feel any danger at all even at nighttime. Finally, the staff is extremely friendly, with a 24-hour reception. They even stored our luggage for a few hours both on the arrival and departure, in order to have some initial and final walks in Barcelona. It will be a definite recommendation to anyone I know who will visit Barcelona in the future and also, the first choice for myself.

Catalonia La Maquinista is ideally located next to the La Maquinista Shopping Centre in Barcelona’s Sant Andreu District. Plaza de Catalunya is just a 15-minute Metro journey away. This is a very comfortable hotel and I enjoyed staying there. I was greeted by a unusually friendly receptionist, who gave me a room before check-in time, provided tips on how to get to the conference venue and offered me a glass of water. This felt like a relief after a long trip and an extreme early start of the day, I was really grateful to her for being welcomed in this hospitable way. My room was spacious and had a big and comfortable bed, a good desk to work, and well-functioning Wi-Fi. Bathroom spotless clean with a good shower. Breakfast was superb with many tasty local dishes, fruits and a lot of choice. The location is quite far away from the city centre, but in walking distance of my conference venue, so in this case ideal. The front desk let me stay an hour longer in my room on the day of my departure, another sign of good service. Unfortunately I did not have time to visit the spa.
