Located in the hills surrounding Funchal, this 18th-century mansion is set in extensive botanical gardens with 600 different plant species. All rooms have balconies overlooking the gardens. Everything. Wonderful garden, views. The staff was super helpful. Rooms are big and nice with very comfortable not soft bed. Complimentary fruits on check-in. Wanted to stay more. 10 out of 10.

Orquidea opens out on to an extra-large roof-top terrace, overlooking Funchal and the Atlantic Ocean. Great room with super comfy beds! We also had a balcony. The hotel is located a couple of minutes away from the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Be aware that the hotel is located on a one-way, narrow street with no parking possibilities. We used the "blue" parking spots near the hotel (on top of the hill). The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had! Very diverse, 3 types of milk, a lot of fruits, and more bread types, croissants, and other cookies, and a lot more! On top of that, the view from the breakfast room is breathtaking! Do not miss this hotel if you are in Funchal!!!

The hotel is situated in a calm area about five minutes’ walk to downtown. Service minded staff, good cleaning and an outstanding kitchen with marvelous breakfasts and dinners. Great atmosphere more like a home than a hotel. We can highly recommend this hotel.

Great location easy to get in and out of with parking on site. Quiet street to be able to rest after long days of hiking. Nice terrace to relax with a book.

In the Sao Pedro district of Funchal, close to Almirante Reis Beach, Apartments Madeira Funchal City has a rooftop pool, free WiFi and a washing machine. Lovely apartment, nice and clean, big outside terrace. Really helpful host Sarah checked us in early at short notice and let us leave late for 7pm flight home. Comfy beds, nice linen, nice big bathroom, lots of hot water, good kitchen facilities.
