We loved Colombo, the 63 years old turtle, and the beautiful gardens he lives in. Breakfast and dinner were superb and we also really appreciated the little chocolates we found on our beds each night. The staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming.

The hotel is located a couple of minutes away from the main attractions, restaurants, and shops. Be aware that the hotel is located on a one-way, narrow street with no parking possibilities. We used the "blue" parking spots near the hotel (on top of the hill). The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had! Very diverse, 3 types of milk, a lot of fruits, and more bread types, croissants, and other cookies, and a lot more! On top of that, the view from the breakfast room is breathtaking! Do not miss this hotel if you are in Funchal!!!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel with amazing views! Perfect location within walking distance to many restaurants! Free undercover parking in the garage was a nice bonus! the pool deck and pool are amazing & pool bar staff was the best after a long day of hiking! The breakfast buffet was perfect to fill up before starting a full day of exploring! I will stay here again!

The hotel is situated in a calm area about five minutes’ walk to downtown. Service minded staff, good cleaning and an outstanding kitchen with marvelous breakfasts and dinners. Great atmosphere more like a home than a hotel. We can highly recommend this hotel.
