Great hospitality, breakfast and rooms. The heritage of this place is amazingly rich, and the ceilings, furnishing and surroundings clearly show this. Notwithstanding this, the bed and creature comforts are all still present. Heins Manor is unpretentious and as authentic as it gets - it felt like a BnB with JD as a super warm host along with his family and pet dogs. 3 friends and I (two couples) spent 2 nights here as a base to explore Stellenbosch, and this location was 10mins or so away from everything we wanted to do - including Root 44, Fat Butcher and several wineries. We strongly recommend Heins Manor if you're looking for something with heritage, warmth and friendliness.

We were out most of the daylight hours and would have liked to do their wine tasting had we more time. The rooms were very spacious & tastefully decorated in a section of the old farmhouse, with wooden suspended floors to give that authentic feel of days gone by. The bathroom is massive with heated towel rails. There's a pleasant verandah to sit and enjoy the warm summer evenings.

It has an older rustic farmhouse feel- rooms are huge, each bedroom has a seperate entrance opening onto the patio which has views of the mountains in the distance and the the game reserve with antelope and zebra grazing close by. You can explore the vineyard and see table mountain in the distance from the top of the property- best done at sunset. The wine tasting at the winery is excellent.
