Guesthouse En is a holiday home situated in Maki, Shiga. The nearest station is JR Omi-Hachiman Station, located a 12-minute drive away. A microwave and a toaster can be found in the kitchen. Hiroshi the owner, and Yasu went above and beyond to make our quick stay enjoyable. This countryside home is very relaxing and met all of my expectations. Biking to the lake was unforgettable. It was the traditional experience we hoped for and was cozy and wonderful. We felt like very welcome guests at this amazing guest home! We will be back!

My wife and I are not young folks anymore. The trip to the bathroom during the night was somewhat difficult for us. The bedroom was on the upper floor in the lovely traditional Japanese house. The narrow stairway was challenging for us. There is ample room downstairs and perhaps owners would accommodate a request to put the bedding there.

Instructions by the host were precise and clear before the checkin. The rooms were sparkling clean, hosts were super friendly and helpful! Location is great to multiple sights in the neighborhood. (Metasequoia trees, cherry blossom, etc. ) Everything is as described in the property descruption. Even better than the pictures. Hosts do not speak english, however they are well prepared with a translator app.
