I really really recommend staying at hostel papagaio. It immediately felt like home, it is a very intimate hostel and the owners are just great hosts. It’s super clean and the common area feels like a living room, the kitchen is perfectly equipped and there is free coffee and if you are lucky snacks. I wouldn’t have left if I didn’t have to! My boyfriend and I stayed here over Christmas. It was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and the shower was lovely and warm. The communal areas were really nice and made for a really nice relaxing stay. The open air kitchen was perfect for cooking any meal. The rooms were cleaned everyday by the lovely hotel staff. I don’t speak much Portuguese and I had no problem communicating with the staff as one of the receptionist spoke English. Everyone who worked there could not have been more helpful. The location was perfect and near the beaches, restaurants and bars and 5 mins walk to the pier. I would 100% stay here again.
