Featuring stunning views out to Lake Wanaka and the mountains, YHA Wanaka offers relaxed and welcoming hostel accommodation. It features an open-plan living/dining area with a log fire to relax and enjoy the views.

We had a cozy room and we can enter the property from the sides. It is very near to the town center where all the eateries and supermarket is. It is also near to the war memorial where you can get quite a high point view of the town.

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.

Great location close to most things. Clean and comfy bed. Nice fresh air through the window. Recently refurbished and fresh looking. Pretty cheap I guess for Wanaka.

This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at and I cannot fault a single thing. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well laid out, the location was perfect and very easy to park by if you have a car, the garden was lovely and looked out over the mountains and the kitchen was fantastic with allocated space for each person to store food and all the utensils you could need. I would not hesitate to stay here again

Very new and clean, especially for a YHA hostel. Normally expect YHA hostels to feel very soulness and minimally get the job done, but this was quite spacious, clean, and modern. Also great location in the (fairly compact) town of Wanaka

It's in a great location with a nice bar and restaurant. There's a common living room area and kitchen. The room has a sink and heater. I booked a hostel room, which was significantly cheaper than a hotel room. It was ok for the price, but there are things that could have been better.

Great location, lovely staff that do what they can to keep their guests happy. Wifi good. Very clean which makes up for the general run-down state of the lodge/hostel building (as opposed to the lovely main building). Showers surprisingly good with hot water. Cheapest private room of Wanaka that day so yes you get what you pay for.
