There's a common living room area and kitchen. The room has a sink and heater. I booked a hostel room, which was significantly cheaper than a hotel room. Very clean which makes up for the general run-down state of the lodge/hostel building (as opposed to the lovely main building). Showers surprisingly good with hot water. Cheapest private room of Wanaka that day so yes you get what you pay for.
