People from the staff are helpful and the bar has a happy hour and they serve amazing food. There are plenty of bathrooms and they are supplied with everything you need. The beds are done daily and they are really comfortable They organize group Tours and that's a nice way to get a view of the island and meet fellow travelers. Overall, hands down one of the nicest hostels I've been to..

Located in Ponta Delgada, Santa Alegria Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. The check-in was very practical and easy. The room really amazed us: beautifully decorated, very clean and modern. We loved the welcome gifts. The bed was very comfortable. We liked the big shower. The hostel downstairs living room with kitchen and the patio created the perfect environment to hang out with other guests and to share some nice moments. The kitchen was very well equipped and the breakfast was very good. The Santa Alegria Hostel team was always available, they were very kind and helpful and made our vacation in S. Miguel Island even more perfect. Thank you Inês and Candido, you made us feel like home and we hope to visit you again!

Located in Ponta Delgada, 12 km from Pico do Carvao, THE HOLY COW - Hostel & Suites provides air-conditioned rooms and a shared lounge. This newly-renovated hostel was well decorated and spacious. The location was close to many restaurants and the harborfront and a short distance from the airport. The owner, Gonçalo, was a joy - attentive and informative about everything to do and see. Breakfast used local ingredients and our family loved the options. Would recommend to families or those traveling in small groups.
