Manoa, Honolulu
Each all-male or female dormitory room provides a shared fully equipped kitchen, a TV, and a lounge at HI - Honolulu University Hostel. Towels and linens are provided at check in. Lockers are provided and guests' are encouraged to bring their own padlock. I liked that the rooms were being cleaned every day, I liked the location, as it was outside of the city center so it was quiet! Sue and Johanna were very comforting and lovely. Really exceeded my expectations. There is not a lot of space in the fridge, the kitchen is small but enough as the hostel is not big! There are 4 parking spots. The bus stop is super near! Overall great experience!

I could make friends who bumped in this hostel and had very nice time with them. Every staffs and guests were very kind. The facilities can be also said to be clean.
Great location, easy 10 min walk to Waikiki, and close to Diamond Head. Easy access by road (cheap parking on the road in front). Just around the corner from Kaimana Beach so it’s easy to get a bit of afternoon sunbathing or an early morning swim. The little extras like wine hour on weekdays and the reusable water bottles to take home were a nice touch. Staff were always friendly and greeted us every day with a smile.
Location was great as the number 20 bus from the airport stops about 50m away from the hotel. This takes just under an hour and gives a chance to look around.. The same bus goes to Kapiʻolani Regional Park at the base of Diamond Head Crater. It costs $3(exact change) each time you get on the bus . This made it a cheap stay. The ocean is a short walk away, though the pool at the hotel is inviting. There are many food options conveniently nearby.. Staff (shout out to Lincoln for the laughs) were great.
the owners were the nicest people ever and always made sure we enjoyed our stay. they gave us many recommendations of things to do and visit while ensuring our safety. the property is not in central honolulu but lots of buses are a 5-min walk away from the hostel. the kitchen was fully equipped and very well organized, as well as the bathrooms.
Location meeting new people from all over the world and yes love always loved going there because it's safe locked Gates and locked doors and all the guests are very respectful of others
i loved absolutly everything about this place i would say the best hostel i stayed in plus spotless clean and they got nice system so everything is clear and organised. i will be defenetly back and for longer. if you are in to hiking going sleep early and waking up early this place is for you. It is also small hostel so feels like home.
Location, location, location. Perfectly near Waikiki beach. So bang for buck really hits the mark. $$$$ wise it was budget but great location. Dated rooms, dated building but location for t he $$$ was fantastic.
For the price which was considerably cheaper than other hotels, it was a good hotel. Loved being able to use beach towels, water bottle refills and Kurig coffee machine. Don't expect a luxury hotel as it is not, but it is clean and well maintained for the price we paid. Great location.
Great location, good value for money and awesome fellow backpackers
Great facilities in the resort for all ages as well as beautiful pool/spa and gym in the hotel itself. Plenty of restaurants catering for wide variety of tastes as well as budget. Teenage girls had a some much fun but we felt they were safe at all times. The kitchen and laundry in our suite made it even better as we did not have run around looking for laundry mats. Most of the buses and trams stoped outside the hotel which made it easy to get around without a car.
Using the Goki app to login and access rooms etc. Very tech savvy, also meant not fussing or worrying about losing keys. Rooms were cleaned regularly - bathrooms to a very good standard. Super helpful staff. Liked the baggage storage, left my main suitcase at the hostel while I travelled to mainland USA for five days. Very hand. Great location, safe too!
