Welcome to The Partchery, where our love of art and patchworking combine (hence the name). This one bedroom attached unit, is located in Narrow Neck, North Shore. We are 5mins walk to one of the best beaches in town. We are also 5mins drive from Devonport, which hosts some of the best shopping and eating in Auckland, you can also access the ferry from Devonport to easily get to Auckland CBD or Waiheke Island.
The unit is nestled to the side of the main house, it has a shared pathway which leads to your private entry and gardens. The unit opens out to a beautiful leafy courtyard, with shade awning and outdoor dining. There is free parking available on the street.
The lounge kitchen and dining are open plan layout. The kitchen, is fully equipped including stove, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine etc. Basic cooking amenities and coffee tea etc are provided.
The lounge sits three with a smart TV, with Netflix and YouTube provided, along with complimentary wi-fi. There is a table and chairs for dining.
Up the hallway there is a separate bedroom, with a queen size quality new bed and an ensuite bathroom with shower, vanity and toilet. The two vertical pipes in the bathroom are heated towel rails these may be turned off in the warmer months but please turn them on if you wish.
There are fresh towels on your bed. There is an extra towel in your wardrobe if required.
Beach towels are available upon request If you wish to go for a swim at the beach, please do not use the guest bedroom towels. To help the environment, we only replace the guest towels every 3rd day and bed linen once a week. As we are not a hotel or motel but boutique accommodation, as the website advises this is not a serviced room.
The unit has been lovingly decorated with artwork and homemade patchwork, it is full of little details to make you feel right at home. Please note that the owners reside in the main home. We don’t bite.
We are your friendly hosts, Mike and Wendy. We live in the main house that is connected to the unit. We take a lot of pride in our home and the beautiful area of Narrow Neck that we live in. We would love the opportunity, to host you in our little garden and art oasis, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions that you may have.
Wendy is passionate about patchwork, photography, and art - other artists work but also, she is starting to do some painting again. You will see a lot of evidence of her passions in the apartment.
Mike likes his fishing and if you are lucky and the timing is right, he may be able to give you some of his catch.
The property is located in Narrow Neck, North Shore. We are 5mins walk to one of the best beaches in town; Narrow Neck. We are also 5mins drive from the Beautiful, Historic suburb of Devonport, which hosts some of the best shopping and eating in Auckland, you can also access the ferry from Devonport to easily get to Auckland CBD (8min ride,) Rangitoto or Waiheke Island (30/40min).

Mt Victoria:
Just a 10–20-minute uphill walk to the summit of Mt Victoria is a must-do so get some of the best panoramic views of Auckland city!
North Head:
Explore military tunnels, bunkers and gun emplacements and go on your own underground adventure. The walking tracks around North Head also capture amazing views of Auckland city and out to Rangitoto Island. *Access is from Takarunga Road.
Beaches:
Relax on Narrow Neck Beach (8min Walk from our property) or Cheltenham Beach (15 min walk or accessed by bus). They are beautiful places to go for a swim, walk along the beach and do general beachy things.
Check Out Victoria Road, Devonport
Victoria Road is where you will find most of Devonport’s cafes, craft shops and fashion stores so take some time to look around and see what you discover.
Take a Walk Around Cambria Reserve
The grassy and picturesque reserve is all that remains of a volcano that was quarried away between 1883 and 1985. Much of the volcanic scoria can be found around Devonport today.
Watch Chocolate Being Made at Devonport Chocolates
Step into chocolate heaven at Devonport Chocolates where you can watch chocolatiers handmaking their sweet treats. Location: Wynyard Street.
Visit the Royal New Zealand Navy Museum
This free-entry museum is a terrific way to spend an hour in Devonport. Cafe also on site. *Access from King Edward Parade, Torpedo Bay
Catch a movie at the historic Victoria Cinema ‘the Vic’, Showing both mainstream and arthouse movies.
