The warmest of welcomes. The staff couldn’t do enough for us on our stay. Our rooms were spotless and comfortable. Rustic and old but to be expected with the age of the property. The games room with darts and a pool table was well used by us. We had our evening meal and all of them were delicious and piping hot. Couldn’t fault it. Food excelled our expectations. Breakfast was also excellent. We would 100% both recommend this and use ourselves again.

We stayed in The Ashberry Guest House in Penrith on our way from Essex to the Isle of Arran, it was ideal to break up our journey. Phil was an excellent host, he was very friendly and helpful, giving us advice on where to go for dinner. I am a coeliac and Phil and his wife had very thoughtfully put gluten free biscuits in our room, they had also got gluten free muesli, bread and sausages for my breakfast. It is so appreciated when people make the extra effort. We would definitely stay here again 😊

Historic inn with great character, good beer and food. The room was clean if a little on the small side. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The only addition we would have liked would be fruit.
