The check in was very smooth and staff were very helpful and friendly. I appreciate that they told us up front that they are a bit under-staffed and asked us to use the bell to call for attention. It made it easier to ask for assistance.
The lounges below were very nice and comfortable too. The rooms were very nice too and bathroom was clean and spacious so we could put our things on the countertops. I also liked the welcome cookies and teas.
Breakfast was also very nice with a beautiful view from the window. Would definitely like to come back!

Stunning.
Stunning. If you're in Bowness and look north towards the mountains north of Ambleside, it's one of the best views in the UK. There is also a viewpoint a little way north on the road from Bowness to Ambleside.

Lake Windermere is very popular and can be busy around the Jetty areas where people take a trip on the water. Just out of town the Lake Jetty Museum show some beautiful boats that have seen time on the water. There is also a trip you can purchase there. For motor fanatics, the motor museum just out of town shows a very extensive selection of cars bikes and motor vehicles of all areas. They also show the world land and water speed records made by the Campbells. Definitely worth a visit if you are Into that kind of thing. A cafe is available. Parking is a available at both places.

Great communication from our host, including a very welcome text to tell us the property was ready nearly 3 hours early. Lovely quiet location, no noise at all at night. The penthouse was well furnished and very clean and comfortable, everything was provided. 10 minutes walk up hill to the top end of town and 5 minutes to old Bowness. Lake Windermere about 10 minutes stroll away. Lots of very dog friendly pub and restaurants very close. There was an amazing deli at the Spar Garage just across the road
Beautiful ,central location, right on Lake Windermere. Vintage ,beautiful ,charming hotel. Loved the lounge and piano. Beautiful dining room with views of the lake and great breakfast. Downtown restaurants and Boating area just a few yards walking distance. Comfortable rooms and beds. Family friendly with bunk beds for the kids in family suites.
Perfect location and easy walk to Lake Windermere. Close to good restaurants and shopping. Beautiful boutique hotel and rooms were immaculate and nicely decorated. Beautiful views and great breakfast buffet and bar snacks. Great coffee and offered decaf. Friendly and helpful service! Breakfast buffet was delicious.
The location is fantastic with great views to the Lakeland hills and lake Windermere. The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and the public areas are great with fantastic views. The accommodation, at least our room was small and the bed was also small but the fit out was good and the whole property is very clean.
The location, high above Lake Windermere, is wonderful - away from the touristy center of Bowness. The gardens and towering rhododendrons are spectacular. Our room had a lovely lake view. The staff was exceptionally accommodating. Loved the tartan carpets, the view from the dining room, and the great selection of books and magazines in the reading room. Wonderful, sugary home baked shortbread cookies in our room every day.
Excellent location, within 200 yards of central Bowness and 800 yards from the marina and excellent restaurants. Very informative host and secure parking on site. Quiet neighbourhood. Large, clean and comfortable bedroom with good views over Bowness and Lake Windermere. Big bathroom with modern facilities and sizeable shower. Excellent breakfast cooked to order
This is a nice, local owned guest house. Very quiet (top floor) with bathroom en suite. Right on the main road, so great access by car. Parking 200 feet away, GBP19 for 3 24 hour days, free after 6 PM. Walking distance to the boat rental/ride dock. Walking distance to at least 30 restaurants and pubs as well as a couple of convenience stores. Highly recommended though far from deluxe, very comfortable and supremely convenient location in Bowness near Lake Windermere.
Great apartment with everything you need, spacious, well equipped, clean and modern. Location also excellent as it's up the hill from the middle of town, with some nice views of Lake Windermere, but still only a 10min walk in via a relatively flat shortcut.
Friendly staff. The location of the hotel next to Lake Windermere was excellent. The services seemed extensive but, to be fair, we only stayed one night.
