We dis a great evening cruise on the TSS Earnslaw, crossing Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm for an evening BBQ. Not cheap but a wonderful experience. The boat is a 100 year old steamship. Walter Peak is a traditional sheep station, the farmstead is lovely, the gardens stunning and the sheep sheering demonstration really work seeing.

On this occasion I made a mistake in the booking and we ended up in a hotel room - nothing wrong with the hotel room but wasn'e 'our usual'. The reception staff went out of their way to work out a solution that resulted in us ending up in an apartment with all the attributes that we cherish.
