Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is part of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint and mosques within the walls. Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artefacts of the Muslim world.

visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit.
visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit. followed by the section for old religious relics. the kitchen , while falls first when you visit the palace, falls first from entrance could be visited at the end, even the section of fire arms could be 2nd last in terms of priorities. or else the Jewels and the religious relics part, which is more important will fall at the end and if you are tired, have kids or have impatient fellow travellers, will not get as much time as you would have liked to give it.

Great first stop to orient you to Ottaman history and culture. Pay extra to go to the Harem, but you don't need an audio guide as there are signs everywhere. Very beautiful gardens too. Overpriced + understocked cafes.

It was my 2nd time I was there and both times it was great. Long walks in parks and well preserved old buildings makes you feel like you are walking in history. Try to enter the complex earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd and the heat (if it's summer)

The staff were really friendly and guided me with taxis and tours, especially Baris, Gunay and Mustafa really went out of their way to look after me. Great location and walking distance from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Spice Bazaar and restaurants. Very Clean hotel, nice breakfast and great value for money. I would definately recommend staying here!
It is very near to Sultanamet Square where most of the tourist spots are located like Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, the Basilica Cistern, even the Grand Bazaar is quiet near.
There are also a lot of restaurants and establishments in the area. Public transport is very accesible. The hotel can also help you book tours and activities if you want to go to other places outside Istanbul.
We had a balcony overlooking Hayasofya and Sultanahmet. The hotel is close to a lot of cool things (grand bazaar, topkapi palace, mosques, etc) AND the tramstation.
The staff were great. The bed comfy, the balcony cute, and the view well old sultanahmet what can you say. The hotel was close to all the major attractions Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, grand bazaar, Suleymaniye Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern. All these places in walking distance. Restaurants everywhere and of course Turkish Delight 😊.
The location is great, it's close to a lot of attractions like Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque, The Bazar etc. You have multiple transport options nearby and the Hotel does provide private parking but reservation is usually needed before arriving, in order to avoid moving other cars just to squeeze in the parking place. Nevertheless, the staff was very polite and helpful (it helped with the parking, with nearby attractions and with transport advice). The room was quite ok, cozy and clean. And the sound insulation was really good.
The hotel is located few hundreds meters from tourist area of Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazar, ...
The hotel manager and personnel is very kind and ready to help with information and advices.
Breakfast was good with enough choices
The hotel is perfectly located within a short walk of many of the Old Town's main sights, including the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace, as well as restaurants, shops and a useful tram stop. Staff are unfailingly helpful and courteous, always keen to assist or provide useful information. The bed was extremely comfortable and Wifi always worked perfectly. We'd happily stay here again: this hotel has real charm and the customer service is faultless.
Where to start. The hotel was perfectly sited for the four main cultural attractions: the Blue Mosque; the Aya Sofia; the Topkapi Palace; and the Basilica Cistern. There were some fabulous restaurants nearby, including the Lale Sultan on the corner, and the Arch bistro was amazing.
But more than that, the staff were just superb. Nothing was too much trouble. Helpful, friendly, and informative.
The location of the Renzo Hotel is fantastic. The Grand Bazaar, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Topkapi Palace were all within a 10-15 minute walk. Additionally, the hotel itself was clean, and our room was very spacious. During our 4-night stay, our room was cleaned twice, which was appreciated. The staff was exceptionally friendly, kind, and helpful. Rukan, the breakfast attendant, was genuinely friendly and took excellent care of us during our meals. If you're traveling on a budget, this is definitely the best place to stay.
Location is very close to the Blue mosque, Agia Sofia and Topkapi Palace so you can walk to visit them. Hotel personal was very friendly and always willing to help. One day they made us a surprize and prepared a birthday cake for my husband. Rooms are big and cleaned every day.

What guests said about Topkapi Palace:
Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded
Walk everywhere possible. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded. For a trip on the Bosporus get the public ferry from under the Galata bridge to the last stop and go up to the castle and then get last ferry back to Istanbul. The first ferry is at 10.35 and the ferry back is at 3ish. It is very reasonable but there is no commentary but we thought it was excellent but be early to get a good view and position on top deck. We found the best restaurant to be Amedros. We went two times and the food is excellent and good value and the staff friendly attentive.

If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it
If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it. Audio guides are available but in my experience these are often disappointing. The rooms are often empty and there is limited information to read. A guide brings the place to life.
