The Wheeler on the Bay Lodge is a surprisingly perfect location. I was expecting a motel and got a small resort, quiet, serene, beautifully located next to the marina. The rooms are big compared to what you normally get at a motel, very clean (as in VERY), well equipped with functioning appliances. My room had a small deck in the back which was a really nice place to just rest a bit and take in the scenery. They have a dock and you can apparently rent canoes to move around the Nehalem River (which I didn't do), get on a boat for some fishing and while I was having my coffee early in the morning I could see some lucky anglers pull sizeable fish from the river. Bonus points: there is an excellent restaurant right next door, the Salmonberry. Great food you probably wouldn't expect in a place like Wheeler with "al fresco" right on the banks of the Nehalem. Spectacular.

Everything is made with love. So many details to discover and thanks to the lovely owners and stuff you feel the most welcome at this place. The best breakfast place is just across the road.

Right at the beach. Room was bigger than expected, clean, you had a microwave, a fridge & a coffee maker! Big tv, nice bed, seating at the window to enjoy the view. Lance checked us in, he was very helpful, took his time to have a chat with us, so we felt right at home.

Was excellent. Lots of variety. Our room was big and spacious with nice view of the ocean. Loved those cookies they bring out at 6pm. Had firewood for the fire at the beach.
