Matlock
My room and all public areas were spotlessly clean. Great location for exploring Derbyshire and the Peak District. Despite being by the side of a main road, my room was very quiet. I highly recommend the food. Great quality, great choice and really good service. You get a key to the front door so you can come and go as you please with ease. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I felt that they really wanted their guests in bar, restaurant and hotel to have a good experience. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Thorpe
Excellent hotel, excellent efficient staff, obviously very well trained.. friendly but detached Good food. One time they gave me the wrong specials menu , but refused to take the extra payment when they realised their mistake. I hardly know Derbyshire: the surrounding countryside is beautiful, and such contrasting landscapes close by...driving down the main A515 over the tops gives wide ranging views, but winding round the side roads to the west there are very steep sided valleys and odd abrupt hills
Ilkeston
Our stay was perfect, the apartment was decorated lovely with everything we needed. A lovely welcome gestures such as the wine, and necessities in the fridge, thank you ! The host and the bistro staff downstairs were very friendly and delicious breakfast options to choose from. Lovely places in Derbyshire to visit were made easy with the location of the apartment and the gated parking was convenient for us too. Thank you Vanessa for the hospitality, it was really pleasant and will come back again !
Excellent staff - EVERY member of staff we had an encounter with was there to make our stay better. Breakfast - fantastic food - everything as you would like an English Breakfast to be! Also eggs done to exactly as I requested. Evening meal was delicious - had to stop ourselves from ordering more food it was so nice. The hotel is out of the way and nice and quiet at night, but close to the famous. "stepping Stones" and the beautiful Derbyshire countryside!
Ashbourne
We were in Derbyshire for a wedding and the pub/hotel was nearby and perfect for our needs. Room was large with good facilities including a kettle and a long mirror which is important when you are off to a wedding! Also a very decent shower. Breakfast was very good but didn’t have any other meals there. Staff were helpful and friendly. From the pub we did a short very pleasant walk along the river which then takes you into nearby Ashbourne.
We travelled to Derbyshire to visit chatworth house and booked at the hotel very last minute. We was very impressed with how we were welcomed on our arrival by very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was spacious and we were provided with a free bottle of beer and Prosecco which was a nice surprise. We also didn’t expect to receive a free packed lunch to take with us even though we only stayed for one night.
While the hotel is tucked away, its a great spot to stay while walking around the area. Village really pretty and easily accessible walks round with history in the village. The accommodation was luxurious, staff so friendly and accommodating. A good value meal but the breakfast was exceptional - cooked breakfast served on a Derbyshire oatcake. Excellent coffee and fresh croissants.
Large car park. Close to many attractions in Derbyshire. Restaurant en site serving delicious Indian food.. Delicious , freshly cooked breakfast and continental breakfast . Hotel room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with bathroom with shower. There was a kettle, full tray of tea, coffee and milk, an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and nice fresh white towels.
Chesterfield
Breakfast was cooked to order with good quality ingredients. The staff were very professional, friendly and efficient. Pleasant relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings. Decor modern and fresh. Bed very comfortable and fantastic bathroom. Great location for exploring Derbyshire Dales. There is a micro brewery adjacent to the hotel for added interest.
This area of Derbyshire is beautiful, we know it well and it's where I'm originally from so we knew this would be fine. Also the communication from the housekeeper was good, I felt for her as there was actually very little that she could do to help us as the owners were 'away'. The fizz left chilling was a thoughtful touch.
Extremely stylish comfortable hotel set in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The Garden Room extension on the side of the building is a great light filled space to eat and drink. Food is impeccably presented, tasty and is sourced locally where possible. The cocktails were to die for! Staff are friendly and super helpful.
Location is good for the area of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Down the road a Stonehouse pub does a great breakfast much better than the services. We had a problem with the room being too close to the local generator. The staff happily moved us to a better room for our second night.
Eyam
What wasn't to like! The apartment was exceptionally well provided for and in a brilliant location. The choices for breakfast were nearly endless (I went for the full Derbyshire myself) and delivered directly to the kitchen by the fabulous host Felicity!
Bakewell
Having stayed at the hotel each year (fishing in the Derbyshire Wye - paid) The location / views are exceptional. Very convenient for the fishing and walking. The renovated rooms are excellent (particularly with the balcony view)
Everything was just as we expected. A delightful hotel in a beautiful part of Derbyshire. Would thoroughly recommend it to friends. Its proximity to Chatsworth House made it even more special. would certainly go again.
Very relaxing evening at Oakhill Hotel after horrendous weather conditions driving to Derbyshire last Friday. Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, both in the evening and in the morning at breakfast.
A beautiful Derbyshire town in stunning glacial scenery - old England at its best. A comfortable but old world pub - a delight to stay in. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful. Dinner was really good.
The hotel is on a great location for the Derbyshire countryside. The had a suite which was lovely, spotlessly clean and lovely & warm. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Great location for exploring Derbyshire. Within walking distance to the town of Belper with lovely parks . Apartment had everything we needed for a two night break. Parking on site was a bonus.
Beautiful apartment. Comfy beds and very central. Bakewell is beautiful with lots of lovely restaurant and shops. Central foe exploring Derbyshire.
