A lovely little village, and a great spot to base yourself if you want to visit coastal Northumberland. Coastal walks are easily accessible on foot, with Alnwick, Alnmouth and Bamburgh all within an easy drive.
Belford is a quaint little town. From our B&B we were able to walk into the town itself. The restaurant was just around the corner. There are several B&Bs in the town center. Belford is close to several sites in Northumberland, St Cuthberts Cave, Lindisfarne, Bamburgh with its castle,Alnwick. We chose to stay in Belford for its location close to these sites. We were not able to find a place in Bamburgh and it proved to be a good choice for us, tired travelers needing a peaceful place to sleep and a good location for exploring the next day.
Broomhill itself is a typical large village of housing. Appears to have grown up around a pit originally - 2 miles from Druridge Bay Country Park, and beautiful beach. Centrally located to explore Northumberland
Ford is a lovely picturesque, historical town nestled in the Northumberland countryside. The B&B that we stayed in was great and in the center of the village.
Quiet Northumberland village with wonderful scenery, pleasant walks, and a touch of history. Not for those who want Wifi and mobile coverage to chart their every move on Facebook! It is difficult to pick a favourite spot in Northumberland but the beaches are superb.
A perfect base for exploring Northumberland. There are some lovely restaurants in Seahouses, cosy welcoming pubs and some nice shops. We stayed here for two nights and walked to Bamburgh Castle, Beadnell Bay and after a short drive, walked across the causeway to Lindisfarne. We also drove to Berwick Upon Tweed and caught the train to Edinburgh where we spent a day. A fantastic long weekend. Links View B&B was our base and is highly recommended
The town is a good place to stay to tour Northumberland. We went as far as Eyemouth and Newcastle. The Italian restaurant is excellent and very good value for money. Although we had the car the bus service seemed to be very regular.
Nice little village which I had always wanted to visit set on the lovely Northumberland coast. it is a picture postcard village with a superb beach offering stunning views and great walks. Lots of little B & B's and hotels. Road links are great and provide access to lots of other coastal towns yet is close to Alnmouth and Newcastle Great break.
Beautiful region of Northumberland, stunning beach walk from Seahouses to the magnificent Bamburgh Castle. Lots of restaurants and pubs. Good for couples for taking time to chill ☺️
A quiet small village (town), from which to access many great places to visit in Northumberland. It also has its own historical features, making it a great place for visitors new to the area, whether national or international.
We loved it all! The rooms were lovely, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The staff were ALL so friendly and helpful! The manager, Andy, was there to answer all our questions and gave us great places to visit! The food was lovely and catered for all preferences! The rooms with a sea view were amazing! Full view of the sea and right outside the windows we could watch the huge ships going into the docks...... awesome! The hotel is situated well for visiting all of Northumberland ,,,, a real bonus!
It was good value for money and perfect for anyone that is looking to spend their days exploring the stunning area of Northumberland. Such a comfortable bed and linen. Staff were off the scale great, best at any hotel for a very very long time. Great to have a private car park on site. Breakfast excellent. I hate those toast machines, so a treat to actually have proper toast brought to the table. Also prefer a buffet hot breakfast rather than made to order. Very good
Bellingham
The hot breakfast was the best I have had at an Inn/Hotel, perfect before a long hike to Hareshaw Linn and beyond in the snow. The staff were very friendly, accomodating, easy going and not too fussing. The room and facilities are modern, very clean and tidy and comfortable. I am really looking forward to returning and staying here more often in the future when working in Northumberland and visiting friends at the First & Last Brewery.
Berwick-Upon-Tweed
Great location and a great stay. Apartment really homely and had everything we needed for a family of five on our stay. Welcome pack was lovely. Beds were super comfy. Perfect base for exploring Berwick and surrounding areas in Northumberland. Would definatley use again if staying in the area. Berwick-Upon-Tweed
A clean, exceptionally comfortable apartment, the photos don't really do it justice, it's fab! Great location for accessing everything that the Northumberland coast has to offer and across to the Scottish borders. Easy walking distance into Berwick upon Tweed or just enjoy the beach at Spittal which is a 5 min walk away. Responsive host if you encounter any problems and a welcome box on arrival was a lovely touch too.
Two details first: on arrival, room seemed cold, radiator wasn’t working (apparently there had been a power cut earlier). Hotel staff sorted this out quickly and efficiently. Very nice bar: we were amazed to discover it served an excellent Cava by the glass, at a great price. This is exceptional even in city centres: downright amazing in the wilds of Northumberland: well done!!! Slept well; great breakfast.
The Hotel is in an excellent Northumberland location; it is a most impressive building in lovely well kept grounds. Our room was large & very well appointed with a very spacious bathroom and such a good, large deep bath. Staff were most friendly & helpful. The breakfast was varied and of very good quality. We enjoyed our stay there, though perhaps a little more expensive than we would have liked.
Absolute great Hotel !! The staff were lovely and welcoming. The lounge and bar area had spectacular views whilst we sat chilling after a full day of sightseeing and our bedroom was fab, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Also the shower was great too. The breakfast was yummy, lots of choices, I opted for the full Northumberland brekkie each morning and it was delicious. We really enjoyed our stay.
I found this to be a good base for a walking the Northumberland Coast Path, with bus stops within a few minutes’ walk and just 15 minutes’ walk to the centre of Alnwick with its bus station. My hotel room was clean and very comfortable, with an ample supply of toiletries. The food in the restaurant was very good. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
really comfy beds, relaxed vibe, nice staff. Night light in bathroom was a helpful touch I’ve not seen in hotels before. cookies were delicious. Great location for a day mooching round Alnwick and accessibility to the glorious Northumberland coast. we also ate in the restaurant and the food and staff were excellent. Thank you.
