- Very new and the whole apartment is bright and clean. - Affordable price given its location. - Once you know the way, is within ten mins walk from JR Kumamoto station, and about five mins walk from the nearest tram station. - Check in and check out kind of easy. - Owner had air con switched on for us prior to arriving, very thoughtful in such hot weather. - Washing machine was very useful for those on a long trip. Despite not having a drying machine, the drying function in the bathroom had that replaced, if not even better.

The hotel location is right beside the Kumamoto train station and definitely a plus point to have one thing less to worry about when planning itineraries. The breakfast area is at the open dining hall adjacent to the lobby; and the open dining hall was free for guests to hang around or eat food which we bought from the supermarket and shops nearby. The room was really spacious for Japan standards. There's a free drinks bar at the lobby as well.

Excellent location. Just a short walking distance (less than 5 mins) from Kumamoto Rail station. Many eateries, bakeries, supermarket, convenient store. Most eateries close by 8 pm. Convenient store close at 11pm. Easy Access to bus and sightseeing seeing tram which is just downstairs the hotel. Hotel staffs are all excellently trained👍🏻 Excellent customer oriented service. Will definitely book again if we visit Kumamoto again.

Fantastic location and view of the Kumamoto Castle at night with the Castle lit up. as long as you have a Castle view room. Worth it to pay extra for such a room. Room was quite big for a Japanese hotel. I think we got the superior room. Location is close to Castle but still used our car bc we had to leave after visiting Castle. Also, was an uphill climb so walking from Hotel would not be a stroll.

This is a traditional Japanese home, it's very spacious, fully equipped and very quiet. It's about 30 min drive from Kumamoto castle, with restaurants in easy reach by car. We have access to the ground floor, which has a huge tatami room, a kitchen with dining area and terrace, a bathroom and 2 toilets. Everything was functional and easy to use. Free wifi and parking in front of the house.

Location of hotel is at good point where you can go to Mt Aso and Kumamoto if you want. Big parking lots and property. I booked with meals options so if you don’t wanna to go out, food is there. Onsen is one of the facilities which is big. Relax when you back from daily activities. Wi-Fi is also good. My booked room is big with Japanese style and western. It makes me feel good.

The staff was friendly and helpful. Kumamoto Castle was across the street from the hotel. Hotel lobby was big and impressive. The bus stop was right outside of the hotel and easy to catch. The breakfast dining room had the most impressive and fantastic view of Kumamoto Castle perched on top of the hill. Of all of our travel, this dining room view was the nicest of all.

Cute little guesthouse in rural Kumamoto at the foot of Mt. Aso. The host, Stefano, was extremely friendly and chatted to us for a while about the local area - he then offered us some of his homemade bread! There is a really nice natural onsen and izakaya nearby - so it was the perfect location to stay to experience rural Japan. Highly reccommended.

The hotel is located between Kumamoto station and Kumamoto castle. This puts both of them within walking distance with a 20 minute or so walk to either. The staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. The breakfast was incredible with a huge selection of Japanese and western foods. The price was surprisingly reasonable for a Mitsui Garden.

Good location, near some good restaurants. Just far enough from the busy areas that it's quiet. The host provided great notes on directions and public transit to popular places. It was good for a short stay in Kumamoto. The internet was surprisingly very good. The apartment has all the tools you need to cook yourself as well.

It is a standard hotel. There are many amenities. Spacious room suitable for two people. Hotel near Sun Road Shin Shigai shopping arcade. and near the tram station. Including the SAKURA MACHI Kumamoto bus station. I recommend this hotel. If there is a chance to go back and stay again.

Location - 1 stop away from the Kumamoto station by a street train. Very historic and Japanese facility. Recommended for whoever wishes to experience something unique. The room is concise/compact (good for a single-traveler), and everything was approachable from a bed space.

Close to shopping areas, covered malls right outside hotel, lots of eateries minutes away, 7/11 right next door, Kumamoto Castle minutes away. Excellent location! Room was very clean and roomy for a Japanese hotel. In our public bath was also extremely clean and nice.

Close to JR Kumamoto Station and relatively central location, quiet neighbourhood Apartment is quite spacious, facilities are great Convenient check-in process and keyless entry Lots of amenities provided Washing machine + drying fan in the bathroom - very convenient

The hotel was in a convenient location, very close to shopping, a variety of restaurants and Kumamoto Castle. The breakfast wasn’t bad and they offered a blend of western and Japanese food. Not a huge selection but the eggs were real. Morning wasn’t bad either.

We are a froup of 5 people traveling to Kumamoto. We are impressed by the style and comfort of the house. The facilities are well-equipped, the beds are comfy, and the location is nice. It has the feeling of contemporary Japan more than your average hotel room.

Great modern design. Love the room but didn’t have option of double bed but interesting design with table in the centre which was very usable. Not ideal for couple Location of hotel very close to Kumamoto castle which was the main highlight of the trip here

Friendly staff during breakfast and check-in/ out procedure. Room size typical for Japanese business hotel. Location is great for nightlife and restaurants. It's also only an 8 minute walk to Kumamoto castle.

Great location, close to Kumamoto Train Station - within 5 minutes walk, easy access to most part of the city; facility is quite new, bathroom and open area are quite clean; value for money if you travel alone.

Best hotel experience I've ever had. Staff there especially Ms Yamada (Ms 山田) was extremely helpful and smart. Excellent English. If we visit Kumamoto again, no doubts I'll stay at Hotel Nikko again.
