It was with mild intrepidation we took the route from the north (which can be a little narrow and bumpy at parts), though we comfortably managed in a 7 seater suv. What welcomed us was a welcoming family and charming fishing village tucked away in the Yucatan peninsula. We saw the true passion that Sergio and Rossana gave to maintaining the crocodile population in and around the region. We were so happy to spend a couple of days here and try the lovely fish and empanadas that they have to offer. Thank you both for such a lovely welcome! 🙏🏼 PS. The route to the village has plenty of flamingos and other birds to see, keep an eye out when you're on the sing-lane road with water and hedges on both sides.

The staff is very friendly (from the staff at the reception to the bellboy and the guy at the parking). The room is very roomy :), clean and pretty much soundproof (you could not hear the traffic or the other guests). The hotel has parking, and I read in some other reviews that it was hard to drive in, but to be honest, it was not, I am not a great driver, but if you have some complications driving into your spot, there is a guy that can help you, so no problems there.

Campeche is a beautiful and interesting. It is the only walled city in Mexico. People are very friendly and talk about their city and state with pride. Food is absolutely delicious! There are wonderful archaeological sites around, like Edzná and Calakmul, or even Uxmal in Yucatán. All is clean, safe and well organized.

Campeche is a historically important city, a UNESCO site for a good reason. To get the full impact of the place, stay within the walls of the city. It's a walking city, but start out out with their tram rides for a good introduction to the city and what it offers. You'll find the trams at the main plaza. The historical area is extremely easy to explore, even number streets go north and south, odd number east/west. Calle 59 is closed off to traffic and a perfect site for a relaxing dinner. The museums located in the blockhouses are just the right size and filled with great artifacts.

Great little town in Centro area. Walkable, no car needed. Good food and polite people. Malecon excellent for walking. Nice respite from noisy and dirty Merida. I went to relax, which was oerfect because not really m uch to see or do in Campeche other than relaxing.

There is nothing we didn't like, but the actual Centro, can be visited in two days. Other things to do is walk the Malecón de Campeche, Visit Mercado Principal, Museums, Historic places, etc. Playa Bonita is worth a visit especially on weekdays when it's not crowded. Good, inexpensive place to spend a day. Rented a Palapa, and two lounge chairs for 30 pesos for the day.:)

I love Campeche.
I love Campeche....biking the Malecon and eating fish at the restaurants at the north end was great. The sun setting over the Gulf was beautiful. Also enjoyed the light and sound show in the main square...more than once...and the music there also. Usually Campeche is tranquil but this year we were there at Carnival and there were thousands of people! However, the streets in the historic center were still quiet and beautiful. Loved eating on the closed Calle 59 at “Fresh & Green.”

Loved Campeche, easy to get around in. Taxi’s are inexpensive.The light show is not to be missed, it was truly spectacular. The boardwalk along the waterfront is fabulous. The people are very friendly but you do need some Spanish. There seems to be always something going on in the Zocolo, music, light show, artisans. I really liked Campeche, I will without question return but I will have studied my Spanish more faithfully.

Fantastic colonial gem. If ever you would hesitate between spending some time in Merida or Campeche, don’t think twice! Beautiful, laid-back! And the Malecon is a great running place.

this was a very pleasant hotel about 3 mins walk from the cathedral square in Campeche and about 10 mins walk from the Sur bus station (for eg bus to Uxmal). The staff were delightful. There is a courtyard that you can sit in and the fruit and toast with juice and coffee for breakfast is served in a charming front room. it's nicely decorated, rooms have space for suitcases etc, and is good value and nothing in campeche is far from anything else (apart from the archaeological museum you need to get a taxi to).

We booked Hotel Plaza Colonial, but after the booking we were told that the Hotel is closed and instead we would become a room in the Hotel Campeche (next to it). Hotel Campeche was really nice, felt like an upgrade. The room was good, with a nice view and sunlight. Good working air condition and small but nice pool. Very good location to explore the city, staff was always helpful. One if the beste showeres i had in Mexico (pressure and heat control).

This is absolutely the best apartment/casa in the Yucatán. The owners have thought of everything including a lovely, quiet patio at the back with lovely fruit trees. The bed and sofas are comfortable to include two rocking chairs, a nice touch. WhatsApp response was very good, and they took care of my questions right away. If you are staying in Campeche, you should stay here.

Campeche is a beautiful city and El Navegante makes it accessible.. This was a great find, it's difficult to find a good value hotel in Campeche that doesn't have drawbacks so a flat was a sensible option for us. This flat was recently refurbished to a good standard. There was plenty of space for the three of us. Good kitchen and bathroom (plus a TV that we didn't use). . The location is convenient and gated parking is available.

We have always stayed at the Gamma whenever we visit Campeche. It's a nice hotel in a superb location near the sea gate. We're already planning our next trip... The pool is great.
