This is a fantastic location with some of the more interesting hiking and climbing routes in Norway, near the Jotunheimen Nasjonalpark. We choose the accomodation in the "Swiss chalet" and this allow us to save a lot of money :-) without losing the magnificence of the place and additional services provided by the hotel like for example the very good dinner (one of the best we have in Norway). The Chalet is really beautiful and extremely functional. Clean and full of services, like the shower and the drying room.

The guy at the reception was very kind and very nice. We came by motorcycle, so he explained to us that we can even use the washing machine and the dryer! It was so so good! We got a cosy room with a view. Hotel is clean and biker friendly.

The Skjolden Hotel was the high point of my trip. I was passing through the area and stayed for three nights. I was immediately captivated by the view of the fjord, then stayed for the excellent food from the kitchen and the lovely staff. if I had the time I would have stayed for a week.

We were looking for a place to stay between Flam and Geiranger. We are happy that we went a little out of our way to visit Balestrand and stay at Kringsjå Hotel. After we missed a ferry and called them, they accommodated a late check in. Our room was a clean and comfortable. It had a great view over Sognefjorden, very iconic. Breakfast was very good. There was plenty of parking. Balestrand made for a really pleasant morning walk.

The owner was very helpful, he offered to take our bags to the boat terminal and insisted we had breakfast before we left first for the 7.50 am, boat to Bergen. The breakfast was nice.
