I love how friendly the staff was and always willing to assist to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The request for massage was so fulfilling in the comfort of our room.

I am admittedly biased, since the original house was designed and built in 1960 by my frandfather Casper Krüger, great-grandson of the legendary Paul Krüger, which the present owners have subsequently converted into the 4-star Kassaboera lodge. Having grown up here, several of my cousins and I recently used the occasion of a family reunion to return to this grand old home to rekindly fond memories, wondering if the intervening 60 years had altered any of our recollections at all. What a pleasant surprise it was to discover that the present owners, Manie and Amanda, have done an excellent job here in the restoration of this special place! All the charm of the original house remains, with the high, thatched roof and spacious interior, but now with modern luxuries and conveniences added, such as the beautiful swimming pool and lovely gardens. From here it is still possible to undertake long, leisurely strolls along the lake. Now I am happy in the thought that this remains one of my favorite places on earth.

great location and beautifully set up

It is found in a breathtaking location surrounded by the bush. Animals roam around freely so you can enjoy looking at them. The staff are very friendly and accommodate your needs. The rangers run the activities, and they take really good care of you. They are patient and very pleasant to talk to. The barge ride and game drive will be unforgettable. They even accommodated for us to do clay shooting with meticulous detail to keep us safe. Thank you to the awesome rangers Hannes, Meghan, and Jagner with special mention to Oum Saro.

Delightful tranquil rustic-boho cottages set in wooded area, some directly on river. Each unique cottage and it's outbuildings are charmingly set in compound fashion around an outside dining area with fire pit and barbecue and secluded by a natural cane palisade allowing for plenty of privacy. Our bedrooms were tasteful and comfortable. We enjoyed the lovely big sparkling pool with river view. We didn't use the Spa facilities set directly on the river but wish we had! Christine is a wonderful thoughtful hostess with a extensive collection of beloved animals , including fallow deer, geese etc and we loved the free range hens that came to visit our cottage garden! We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Christine, Gerald and all of Iris team!

cozy, decorated with love, pristine garden with little corners with chairs and table, wonderful pool, breathtaking views and a scrumptious breakfast. The landlady is an angel and ready to help. she knows the area very well .

The breakfast was delicious. The owner went out of his way to help us when we had a flat tyre.
