To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

SpainIt was old and in need of a refurb, no tea or coffee facilities 24 hr a day in reception. Breakfast was poor, chef did not seem to know what foods go with what so it was a random mix of all sorts, dinner the same. Reception staff not helpful and just said she was new but nobody available to refer to. Lights in bedroom very confusing to operate. But you get what you pay for.
It was cheap, clean and a comfy bed to sleep in.

Awesome service. Everyone working here is very friendly and helps whenever you ask. Even the lifeguard from the pool was so nice and friendly. Breakfast was quiet good, you have multiple options. The rooms are very okay for the price and mostly clean. I recommend this great hotel!

The cleanness, the furniture was modern and new, and the location. I was worried at free about the breakfast because many people complained that it doesn’t have a lot of varieties but I believe they fixed that issue and the breakfast was changing daily 👍🏼
