The ventilation system in the courtyard is awfully loud, even when the window is closed. From a european perspective the rooms are far too expensive for they value, but for NYC standards the prices are probably average. Good location though.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean room. Free bottled water provided.

Rooms are on the small side as is the bathroom but location is great.

We like staying at the Empire Hotel. They did not have Queen beds available so we had to stay elsewhere for most of our Thanksgiving trip but got to stay one night. I think the beds are always comfortable. We try to book it every trip.

Some areas a little dirty. Took an oddly longtime to process my credit card. Elevator to the roof bar was scary noisy! Watch the “guest of the day” upgrade may be a sham for more money. Inconsistent pricing with Booking

We wanted a room with 2 beds and a sofa sleeper to fit our family but they had to switch our room to a smaller configuration at the last minute. We would have preferred a way to either be notified of this change earlier or note our preference. As it was, our daughter was able to sleep on the floor but that wasn't ideal.

The hotel is beautiful and in a great location right near Columbus Circle and Central Park.

Needed a vent fan in the bathroom. Window shade got hung up. Lighting in the hallways too dim. Clock in room was incorrect but I couldn't find a way to set it correct.

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased. The location was excellent with a subway only 3 minute walk. The hotel was clean. Staff were very helpful

No amenities is the room, no water, no coffee, tea or minibar. No room service, bathtubs are slippery. Management needs to raise the bar. Other than its good location, the hotel is not that special anymore

Small room for family. No breakfast option. Everything else was very good.

The room initially wasn't big enough for 4 guests so we upgraded. Water for guest was a very nice touch. I did the marathon so location next to finish line was great. very friendly staff.

My initial room appeared to not be cleaned thoroughly. Requested a new room and was assisted promptly. I did not like that there wasn't Wifi or the TV was not a smart TV for streaming services, but local channels were sufficient. The bathroom was a bit tight and the shower did not have warm or hot water - making for a chilly experience.

Location - excellent! The ambiance - excellent. Staff and security extremely friendly and helpful - gracious arrival and check out. Hospitable and accommodating.

Our room was tired and certain things needed to be fixed. Our key cards kept not working so we constantly had to go downstairs and get new ones. Our thermostat was not working on the first night and the room got up to 81 degrees. They did send someone in and fixed it immediately Sunday morning.

The rooms were small which is pretty standard NYC, but it would have been nice to be able to hang out in the lobby. Grab a drink or a pastry and chat. Or read. It had so much potential to be an awesome space, but it looked like a “once was” bar and we were there for left overs. With such cool seating, such a beautiful bar and such a cool mezzanine…it was perfect for celebratory drinks or morning coffee or happy hour. But there was nothing happening. In the absence of revitalizing things, a simple bowl of bananas and a few carafes of coffee would make people’s day. It was killer not to have a way to brew coffee in the room. Boston hotels spoil pre marathon. I know Starbucks is around the corner but they don’t open until 6 so that was too late for the early waves.

The location was perfect for the marathon.
