Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyQueen bed is small for a couple.
The rooms have excellent views to NYC. Some are a bit small, but cozy. The shower is a bit weird as has no doors, so the bathroom gets wet. But it dries fast

United StatesThere is some variation in room size among the Deluxe Queen Bed category. Some have a much smaller layout, a smaller bathroom with a combined shower/tub instead of separate. I also with there was some more accomadation for a later check-out.
Standard High Line always has a spectacular view of downtown that makes for my go-to staycation in NYC. I travel here yearly and the view is always wonderful. Room service is delicious and staff are polite.

AustraliaWater pressure of the shower was poor. The $10 for a really crappy cappuccino in the lounge left a bad taste in my mouth....
Amazing location, cannot really get much better in Manhattan, the hotel straddles the High Line, a block from Chelsea Markets, adjacent to the Little Island and New Whitney Museum. My room had a wonderful view looking south in Manhattan with some of the river. The staff at the front desk were very warm and accommodating. The room was very comfortable, enjoyed the abnormal configuration of having the bath in the middle of the room - it was nice to take a shower while looking out your hotel window at Manhattan. I would stay there again if my budget permitted.

Bright good size room for NYC. Excellent breakfast and the location in the heart of the Meatpacking District and at the bottom of the High Line is perfect for exploring the area. The Standard Grill is a very good restaurant.

United KingdomThe roof top bar, terrace & small pool were separate to the hotel. So you had to exit and then queue to get in to the roof top facilities as any member of the public. Very annoying. Plus with my under 21 year old kids this meant it was impossible to even show them the roof top views. Guests should know about this separation.

GermanyIt’s not the most quiet place due to a nightclub on the rooftop which plays loud music until 4 am on weekends. Also, shower not very well planned. The bathroom gets very wet every time you use the shower.

United StatesAs a taller guy (6'3), the shower head was at eye level, so kind of uncomfortable. Though I liked the aesthetic of the hotel, sometimes it was too dark to see the elevator buttons. The curtains didn't block as much light as I'd like, but I like it super dark, so don't let this put you off. The High Line runs through the hotel, but you have to go outside and down the block to get onto the High Line.
The location in Chelsea was convenient and the subway was nearby. It was convenient to the subway. We loved the views and the general aesthetic of the hotel. The bed and pillows were also very comfortable. Everyone we interacted with was extremely helpful. I also greatly appreciated the soundproofing efforts. I barely heard anything from outside or from other rooms.

United StatesSomewhat noisier than we hoped, given the selection of a floor halfway between ground and roof club. Would like to have tried the club, but though it's the same building, it's completely separate, so not really an "amenity". If we'd thought it through (and if it's possible) would have forgone a bathtub for a bit more room in bathroom. Ice machine on our floor broken. I know it's bad form to complain about the room rate v. taxes/fees, but the $30 for WiFi and water - really? The Waltz from Prokofiev's Cinderella in the elevator did get to be a bit much - points for trying, but...
Had no idea that the property was in the middle of so much. Great views. The room size was good. The "Standard Telephone Company" feature allows guests to pick up the phone and get connected to the US Capitol switchboard to "ring our rep" - great idea. Staff was helpful. Place was very cool.

DenmarkBooked two rooms for a family of 4 and requested connecting rooms or at least same floor with view of lower Manhattan. Got rooms on separate floors with view uptown. Humidity in rooms too high as the bath/shower is part of the room itself.
